Happy Friday everyone! I can't believe it, but I think that Spring has finally sprung! If you have been here for a while, you know I'm a winter person but this winter has been super long even for me. Today, Owen, Lexi and I spent some time getting our bronze on on the side deck where the sun was beating down and making it nice and toasty warm! Lexi was finding it a little hot and opted to go lie on the snow in the backyard instead, lol!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Last week, Celine from <a href="http://www.nailpolishcanada.com/" target="_blank">Nail Polish Canada</a> emailed me and asked if I wanted to participate in their Easter Nail Art Challenge. It's been a while since I've done nail art, so I thought I would give 'er a go! Here's what I came up with:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-22hlivncgg0/U0g_m333sPI/AAAAAAAAITU/szT3Cyu4svw/s1600/IMG_20140406_104322.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-22hlivncgg0/U0g_m333sPI/AAAAAAAAITU/szT3Cyu4svw/s1600/IMG_20140406_104322.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I used a bunch of polishes, I'll just list them for you guys:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Julep Bess (blue)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Julep Blake (yellow)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
OPI Rumple's Wiggin' (purple)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Julep Hayden (orange)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Julep Martha (pink)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Jordana Black</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
LA Colors Art Deco striping polish in White</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
China Glaze Fairy Dust (glitter)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Julep Matte Top Coat</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The picture doesn't show the polishes in 100% colour accuracy, but it was late at night when I took the picture and by the time I got up in the morning, my sugar spun thumb was all smushed.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I love pastel polishes, and they look even better when they are topped with a matte top coat. I love the chalky look of them :)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

Hey everyone! This has been such a long time coming, and I apologize Laura! My blogging mojo still isn't quite back, but let's get to it shall we?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I purchased these polishes with my own money using a blogger discount code provided by Laura at Ellagee in return for my honest review of the polishes. There are NO affiliate links below, only links to the products featured in this post.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
First up is Another Notch in My Lipstick Case.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MZPutyTk4Mw/U0QjfyBq6-I/AAAAAAAAIS4/rWWZZCBplV0/s1600/Ellagee+Another+Notch+in+my+Lipstick+Case.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MZPutyTk4Mw/U0QjfyBq6-I/AAAAAAAAIS4/rWWZZCBplV0/s1600/Ellagee+Another+Notch+in+my+Lipstick+Case.jpg" height="320" width="319" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is a .. dusty I guess .. slightly burgundy-ish red scattered holo polish. I applied 2 kind of difficult coats for this picture. I found the formula to be a little thick and hard to work with. I also wasn't too sure about the colour when I put it on, but it grew on me. The scattered holo is perfect, as you know I prefer scattered holo to linear anyways :) This picture has no clean up, cause I was lazy and didn't think it looked too bad :) You can purchase this polish <a href="http://ellagee.com/collections/229512-holographic-hit-list/products/1870386-another-notch-in-my-lipstick-case" target="_blank">here</a>.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Up next is Heaven Must Be Missing an Angel.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Yf1Vl6AxtaI/U0Qk8qVj3KI/AAAAAAAAITE/f1uPB_kzB-0/s1600/Ellagee+Heaven+Must+Be+Missing+An+Angel.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Yf1Vl6AxtaI/U0Qk8qVj3KI/AAAAAAAAITE/f1uPB_kzB-0/s1600/Ellagee+Heaven+Must+Be+Missing+An+Angel.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I chose this polish because I thought it would kill my desire for Enchanted Polish Love the Way You Lilac, and while it's very similar, I think the holo-ness of this is quite different judging from pictures. That's ok though, cause I do like this one. It was a little easier to work with and I used 2 coats for this picture, but I did have to do some clean up as the brush got a little out of control. This is a grey-ish lavender polish with a very subtle scattered holo that likes to hide from the camera. It's more visible in direct sunlight but didn't want to photograph very well, and it's appearing more grey than it is in person. What is it with purple polishes?! You can purchase this polish <a href="http://ellagee.com/collections/229512-holographic-hit-list/products/1612511-heaven-must-be-missing-an-angel" target="_blank">here</a>. Looks like it's currently out of stock as I type up this post, so check back later, she may restock it!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I have another polish I got to review as well, Shirley Temple, but I didn't get a blog-worthy picture of it when I had it on. I may put it on again soon! It's a beautiful colour-changing polish with circle glitters :D If you want to see the picture I did get, check out my <a href="http://instagram.com/p/k76lc8u9C2/" target="_blank">Instagram</a> post! You can purchase Shirley Temple <a href="http://ellagee.com/collections/503071-oddballs-and-keepers/products/1623776-shirley-temple-thermal" target="_blank">here</a>. It's also out of stock right now, so make sure to check back!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You can purchase these polishes, and all the other gorgeous creations on Ellagee's <a href="http://ellagee.com/" target="_blank">shop</a>. Wow, it's been over 2 months since my last blog post.. whoops!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I'm still alive and well, but let me tell you, my blogging has taken a nose dive.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I completely lost my interest in it, and it was starting to become too much work to do it daily, or even a couple times a week.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
But, let's catch up, shall we? Here's what's been going on in my life for the last while:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
a) Tyler got me a puppy for Christmas. Remember this cutie?</div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PvXzKjCRAwA/UtWkty05h0I/AAAAAAAAIOo/JmrgH-qylXs/s1600/Owen+%2526+Lexi.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PvXzKjCRAwA/UtWkty05h0I/AAAAAAAAIOo/JmrgH-qylXs/s1600/Owen+%2526+Lexi.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">AWW!!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<span style="text-align: justify;">Lexi will be 5 months on April 4th (oh how time flies!), and she is full of spit and vinegar, and keeps me busy most of the time! Owen loves her, and she loves Owen, but they definitely have their moments, as all fur-siblings do. She is now a little taller than Owen, and longer too.</span><br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KS5N9U7FGGI/UzWr99_kflI/AAAAAAAAISI/sJzgbq_fnK0/s1600/20140321_163858.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KS5N9U7FGGI/UzWr99_kflI/AAAAAAAAISI/sJzgbq_fnK0/s1600/20140321_163858.jpg" height="180" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Owen and Lexi staring down little Bosco<br />(my sister's boyfriend's mom's dog.. cause that's not confusing as heck!)<br />Sidenote: Lexi was the same size as Bosco (pug) when we got her :)</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<span style="text-align: justify;"><br /></span>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
b) I'm getting married in October (YAY!), so wedding planning has started full swing around my house. I have my dress, we have decided on the bridesmaid dresses, this weekend we are hoping to finalize the guys' attire, and we are going to try out some cake/cupcakes from one of the bakeries we have narrowed our search to. All of the other bigger stuff, other than flowers, is done and decided on, so now it's just going to be deciding on all of the smaller stuff like décor.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
c) I have destashed my polish collection down to about 200 polishes. YIKES!! I know! (Check out my <a href="http://ericaspolishdestash.storenvy.com/" target="_blank">Storenvy</a> if you want to take some off my hands!) Over half that remain are still untried/not swatched on their own, so I'm trying to work on that slowly but surely. If you follow me in <a href="http://instagram.com/ericasnailsandmore" target="_blank">Instagram</a> (you totally should!), you will have seen some polishes that haven't made it on here.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
And, here's what I'm wearing today - Whimsical Ideas by Pam Hatched! My first Whimsy ^_^</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4bIWF75UUak/UzW3Xs9rz0I/AAAAAAAAISY/UtDA-HvwRsE/s1600/Whimsical+Ideas+by+Pam+Hatched.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4bIWF75UUak/UzW3Xs9rz0I/AAAAAAAAISY/UtDA-HvwRsE/s1600/Whimsical+Ideas+by+Pam+Hatched.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I'm going to really try to get back into blogging more, but it might be a once-a-week kind of thing, hope you guys don't mind :)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
That's about it. What's new with you??</div>
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15313408947689071368noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9098226861094954681.post-5613553222264373382014-01-25T13:57:00.001-05:002014-01-25T13:57:20.418-05:00Swatch-It-Up-Saturday Jan 25<div style="text-align: justify;">
Howdy, and Happy Saturday! We got a huge dumping of snow again last night. They had all the highways around us closed, and just reopened some of them about an hour ago. Tyler and I don't have any plans today, so we don't have to worry about not getting to where we are supposed to be. It's a great day to snuggle up on the couch and watch a movie with a steaming mug of hot chocolate :D</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It's Swatch-It-Up-Saturday again! I don't have too many swatches for you this week though, but let's get to it, shall we?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Bql7du5aDW0/UdeD1f-zLiI/AAAAAAAAHxY/b7AzxStZpUA/s1600/Swatch+It+Up+Saturday+Banner.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Bql7du5aDW0/UdeD1f-zLiI/AAAAAAAAHxY/b7AzxStZpUA/s1600/Swatch+It+Up+Saturday+Banner.jpg" height="43" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-K71CDPEy-Xk/UuP-qkcO2OI/AAAAAAAAIRk/Z5jtzHAg1J4/s1600/Ellagee+That+Sweet+Without+Peer.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-K71CDPEy-Xk/UuP-qkcO2OI/AAAAAAAAIRk/Z5jtzHAg1J4/s1600/Ellagee+That+Sweet+Without+Peer.jpg" height="320" width="232" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is 3 coats of Ellagee That Sweet Without Peer. The polish was super easy to apply, I didn't have to do any clean up when I was done :) That's always a good thing, right? I got this and 2 other polishes from the Scrumptious Sprinkles collection for Christmas. I know a lot of people don't like the bar glitters, but these lay flat on the nail, and don't stick up to get caught on everything. They are very similar to the Sally Hansen Fuzzy Coat polishes. I wasn't able to capture the real colour of this polish, but it's a little lighter and the base colour is more like periwinkle. I don't see this on <a href="http://www.ellagee.com/" target="_blank">Ellagee's online store</a>, so I'm not sure if they have been discontinued, but she does have lots of other gorgeous polishes on there!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RDHPd2r3L70/UuP-rmW1JBI/AAAAAAAAIRs/nkFZPqAqONA/s1600/Zoya+Adina.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-RDHPd2r3L70/UuP-rmW1JBI/AAAAAAAAIRs/nkFZPqAqONA/s1600/Zoya+Adina.jpg" height="320" width="225" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is 2 coats of Zoya Adina. This was one of my first Zoya polishes, I got it from <a href="http://www.nailpolishcanada.com/" target="_blank">Nail Polish Canada</a>. It's beautiful! It shifts from a grape-ish purple to a metallic olive-ish green. I think it's safe for me to say that this is one of my favourite Zoya polishes that I own :) I'm not a huge fan of multi-/duochromes, but there's something about this one that calls to me :)</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-E5mUvfkIs0c/UuP-sL9RfyI/AAAAAAAAIR0/gKV7H-psADo/s1600/Zoya+Carter.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-E5mUvfkIs0c/UuP-sL9RfyI/AAAAAAAAIR0/gKV7H-psADo/s1600/Zoya+Carter.jpg" height="320" width="219" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is 2 coats of Zoya Carter, from the Fall 2013 Pixie Dust collection. Can I just say "wow!"?? I love texture polishes, especially this kind. And I love purple, so this is a polish match made in heaven! This is worn without base and top coats so as not to ruin the textured finish. This has a lot of sparkle in it as well, but I couldn't quite capture it when I was taking pictures. Pixie Dusts and the Julie G Gumdrops textured polishes are my favourite textures! I didn't think I would like them, but I fell hard for them when I first tried them :D</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
That's it for this week, apparently I was feeling very purple, according to my swatches for the week. I wonder what colour I'll be feeling next week ;)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Have a great rest of your weekend!</div>

Good morning everyone! I have a mani for you today that I am pretty much in love with! I have been trying to wrack my brain to come up with some nail art ideas, and when I painted my nails with Julep Blake on Saturday, this came to me! Come check it out!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AVoXfVPMIxs/Utvdn9U68GI/AAAAAAAAIRU/bfIMqT2cZnc/s1600/Studs+and+Glitter.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AVoXfVPMIxs/Utvdn9U68GI/AAAAAAAAIRU/bfIMqT2cZnc/s1600/Studs+and+Glitter.jpg" height="320" width="215" /></a></div>
<br />
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I started with 3 coats of Julep Blake. When that was completely dry, I used some striping tape to tape off half of my nail, and then applied Revlon Graffiti glitter top coat to the right half. Then, when I applied the top coat over that, I applied the 2mm Square Studs I got from Born Pretty Store for review. I first tried the dotting-tool-in-water to try to apply the studs, but that wasn't working for me (see the wonkiness of the studs on the index nail??). So I wrapped a piece of scotch tape around one end of my dotting tool, sticky side out, to pick up the studs and that worked much better :)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Have you ever had a mani come to mind when you put your base colour on?</div>

I have a pile of swatches for you guys this morning that I have been stashing since the end of November... Yeah... *sheepish grin* Anyways, let's get to it, shall we?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Bql7du5aDW0/UdeD1f-zLiI/AAAAAAAAHxY/b7AzxStZpUA/s1600/Swatch+It+Up+Saturday+Banner.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Bql7du5aDW0/UdeD1f-zLiI/AAAAAAAAHxY/b7AzxStZpUA/s1600/Swatch+It+Up+Saturday+Banner.jpg" height="43" width="320" /></a></div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-9fv1tTMaFGg/UtqHoumLmfI/AAAAAAAAIQs/VEGYxxqcu3Q/s1600/a+England+Galahad.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-9fv1tTMaFGg/UtqHoumLmfI/AAAAAAAAIQs/VEGYxxqcu3Q/s1600/a+England+Galahad.jpg" height="320" width="210" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is 2 coats of a England Galahad. This is my first and only a England polish, and I wanted it because of the name, not going to lie. While the polish may be named for something else entirely, I wanted it because it is the name of the household cat in my favourite book series, the In Death series by J.D. Robb. This polish applied great, and while a lot of people say it has an extraordinary formula, for me, this applied like most other polishes I own. Not that that is a bad thing, I just didn't notice anything different from other creme polishes application-wise. I know the picture is kind of dark, but this is the closest I could get to what the polish colour looks like in person. In brighter lights it looks a little brighter, but it a beautiful blue-toned teal. If I could only have one teal in my collection, I would pick this one because it's my favourite one of all that I own.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is 2 coats of butter LONDON Pillar Box Red. This is my favourite red, it's a very true-red! It applies great, I have never had any issues with the application.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-58ci5msL8WM/UtqHWtuewoI/AAAAAAAAIPc/uECVTyIILrk/s1600/China+Glaze+Twinkle+Lights.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-58ci5msL8WM/UtqHWtuewoI/AAAAAAAAIPc/uECVTyIILrk/s1600/China+Glaze+Twinkle+Lights.jpg" height="320" width="246" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is 2 coats of China Glaze Twinkle Lights. This is a mix of gold, red and green glitters that really get you in the Christmas spirit! I really love this polish, and again, not application issues to report. As with any glitter polish, I recommend removal via the foil method because all those little glitters are such a pain to deal with otherwise! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-I3N4UDoRlAQ/UtqHUkdUIqI/AAAAAAAAIPU/iq4SW6-9RnI/s1600/Essie+Butler+Please.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-I3N4UDoRlAQ/UtqHUkdUIqI/AAAAAAAAIPU/iq4SW6-9RnI/s1600/Essie+Butler+Please.jpg" height="320" width="237" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is 2 coats of Essie Butler Please. This is a gorgeous vibrant blue polish, and I think it will be one that stays in my collection for a while! I wore this a while ago, but I think I did have a little bit of staining when I removed it, so just be careful of that. Otherwise, application was great. I know some people have hit-and-miss with the Essie formula, but personally I haven't had any issues.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-CYoDCwyxm3I/UtqHTtyfT6I/AAAAAAAAIPM/Kb4bFEJsamc/s1600/Essie+Merino+Cool.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-CYoDCwyxm3I/UtqHTtyfT6I/AAAAAAAAIPM/Kb4bFEJsamc/s1600/Essie+Merino+Cool.jpg" height="320" width="208" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is 3 coats of Essie Merino Cool. Again, another favourite in my collection - is it grey? Is it purple? Is it brown? These are questions I constantly ask myself when I wear this polish because the answer changes with different lighting. This polish is a little sheer and streaky with the first coat, but everything evens out with the 2nd and 3rd. This very unique colour will remain a staple in my polish collection :)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rdKJNTSWlkg/UtqHaYXHghI/AAAAAAAAIPs/3pP-j3TKKpU/s1600/Gel+II+Metro.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rdKJNTSWlkg/UtqHaYXHghI/AAAAAAAAIPs/3pP-j3TKKpU/s1600/Gel+II+Metro.jpg" height="320" width="230" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is 2 coats of Gel II Metro. I wore this over Christmas, even when Tyler was like "that's all you're doing? You're just going to wear a red polish, no nail art?" He told me I was boring. LOL! I love the Gel II gel polishes, they have great staying power, and are really simple to remove with the foil method. However, I don't know if it's just my application or if I do something wrong, but it always looks like I have tip wear on the ends of my nails even while I am still polishing/curing. I haven't figured out how to prevent it yet. I have tried sealing the free edge with the gel polish and the gel top coat, but nothing seems to stop it. I'm not sure what to do, so if anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear them!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-539iUDCxg_A/UtqHZj1WuLI/AAAAAAAAIPk/sCvvldfSRoA/s1600/Julep+Blake.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-539iUDCxg_A/UtqHZj1WuLI/AAAAAAAAIPk/sCvvldfSRoA/s1600/Julep+Blake.jpg" height="320" width="182" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is 3 coats of Julep Blake. I just put this on this morning. I have already swatched this polish, but when I look back on my original swatch, I cringe and think "man, I <i>have</i> to redo that one!" This polish is thinner than most of my other Julep polishes, but their formula seems to have become thicker in the last year or so. This went on really streaky with the first coat, and was still kind of streaky with the 2nd coat, but the 3rd coat mostly evened everything out. There are still some spots that could have had better coverage, but that's what you get with a) a thinner formula, b) a yellow polish and c) a pastel. I thought about doing a coat of matte top coat between the coats of colour to see if that would work because it works with white polishes, but I decided against it to give you guys "true" swatches. I hate nothing more than looking at swatches of polishes online, then getting the polish and it doesn't apply as nicely or as I saw it in the pictures online.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zC0DQ4WodT0/UtqHbQFhOMI/AAAAAAAAIP0/qBmZ8cz0Fog/s1600/Julep+Missy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-zC0DQ4WodT0/UtqHbQFhOMI/AAAAAAAAIP0/qBmZ8cz0Fog/s1600/Julep+Missy.jpg" height="320" width="215" /></a></div>
This is 2 coats of Julep Missy. It's a great silver foil polish with no issues in application. One thing to note though, it looks like you beat up a fairy when you go to take it off because the super fine glitters get EVERY WHERE! Another polish that is best left to be removed with the foil method, in my opinion.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dbtyVb_9DQ8/UtqHfP_XemI/AAAAAAAAIP8/LHyfAUzjmME/s1600/Julep+Petra+Matte.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dbtyVb_9DQ8/UtqHfP_XemI/AAAAAAAAIP8/LHyfAUzjmME/s1600/Julep+Petra+Matte.jpg" height="320" width="193" /></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7V5NsW0Jdlg/UtqHfVF7GOI/AAAAAAAAIQA/B9og4dLqG-k/s1600/Julep+Petra.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-7V5NsW0Jdlg/UtqHfVF7GOI/AAAAAAAAIQA/B9og4dLqG-k/s1600/Julep+Petra.jpg" height="320" width="204" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is 2 coats of Julep Petra. This is one gorgeous polish, and was perfect for the Christmas season! It's a berry red with a magenta flash throughout, and what looks like flakies, but I don't think they are. I decided to matte it and see what it looked like, and the matte top coat made it that much more beautiful! It almost looks like a suede polish when it has a matte top coat on it.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hSZe8o0sxrI/UtqHguidaiI/AAAAAAAAIQM/8z5jNPFmY9E/s1600/Lush+Lacquer+Clowning+Around.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-hSZe8o0sxrI/UtqHguidaiI/AAAAAAAAIQM/8z5jNPFmY9E/s1600/Lush+Lacquer+Clowning+Around.jpg" height="320" width="249" /></a></div>
This is 1 coat of Lush Lacquer over Sally Hanen Xtreme Wear White On. I got this polish from a friend, I have been eyeing it for a while, but when I put it on the base seemed to have a slightly pink tint to it. I don't know if that is normal for this polish, or if the colours from the glitters have been bleeding into the base or not. Either way, it's a great polish, but I was just surprised by the slightly pink-tinted base. The glitters in this lay flat on the nail. A couple of the bigger ones did have a corner sticking up a little bit, but definitely not the worst I have dealt with for a glitter polish. I didn't have to fish for any glitters when I was applying it, not that it would be easy to fish them out of the bottle anyways, they all look the same :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cEmGwnwDkCc/UtqHkPwJWdI/AAAAAAAAIQU/eAtLCYVLDl4/s1600/Michael+Marcus+Blood+Red.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cEmGwnwDkCc/UtqHkPwJWdI/AAAAAAAAIQU/eAtLCYVLDl4/s1600/Michael+Marcus+Blood+Red.jpg" height="266" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is 2 coats of Michael Marcus Blood Red. I got this polish in a Wantable box a couple months ago. When I swatched it on a nail stick, I thought it was going to be a jelly polish, but I was pleasantly surprised when it was more of a creme when applied to the actual nail. It does have a squishy appearance like a jelly polish though. The application of this polish was super easy, and the bottle is an interesting shape too, which I like. It's not your "typical" round bottle.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zKcKy_YhNqY/UtqHl46BBoI/AAAAAAAAIQc/lJ5FVzFZ2VY/s1600/Zoya+Storm.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-zKcKy_YhNqY/UtqHl46BBoI/AAAAAAAAIQc/lJ5FVzFZ2VY/s1600/Zoya+Storm.jpg" height="320" width="221" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is 2 coats of Zoya Storm. Ah, this is definitely my baby! I'm not huge on black polishes, but this is definitely another favourite in my collection. There is just something about the scattered holo that turns it from "blah-ck" to "bl-ahhhhh-ck" :D The application of this is easy, and removal is easy too, which is a bonus in my books. If you don't have this already, I <i>highly</i> recommend it, even if you aren't a black polish person :D</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-k5SNLDIf6BQ/UtqHnlsX8qI/AAAAAAAAIQk/ii4hdhzB8Gc/s1600/Zoya+Tomoko.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-k5SNLDIf6BQ/UtqHnlsX8qI/AAAAAAAAIQk/ii4hdhzB8Gc/s1600/Zoya+Tomoko.jpg" height="320" width="230" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is 2 coats of Zoya Tomoko, from the Fall 2013 Pixie Dust line. Can I just say "WOW!" I really love the Pixie Dust textured polishes, they are my favourites right behind the Julie G Gumdrops textured polishes. The texture is great, and uniform, unlike the Liquid Sands from OPI. I don't like the OPIs because they have the multi-sized glitters in them, I prefer the textures that have all the same sized granules, if that's what you want to call them. I definitely recommend he Pixie Dusts if you are looking to try a textured polish. Plus, they have lots of different colours to suit different tastes :D</div>

Good morning and Happy Hump Day! My first nail post of 2014 comes half way into January.. shame on me :( I'm such a bad blogger! I have lost my drive to blog, but I have made the commitment to <a href="http://www.bornprettystore.com/" target="_blank">Born Pretty Store</a> to do a review on a product they sent me, which I was really excited about receiving, so I figured it was high-time I pull myself together and get back in the saddle! <b>This post contains affiliate links, and this product was sent to me free of charge for an honest product review.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<b></b></div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I'm sure most of you are familiar with <a href="http://www.bornprettystore.com/" target="_blank">Born Pretty Store</a>, the online shop for everything related to <a href="http://www.bornprettystore.com/" target="_blank">nail art</a>. All of their products are <i>very</i> reasonably priced, especially if you want to try something new and not want to spend a fortune on it. They also ship worldwide, <b>for free</b>!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
When Daisy asked me what product I would like to review, I gravitated towards the square nail studs, as I have never tried them before. I chose the <a href="http://www.bornprettystore.com/silver-square-stud-rhinestone-acrylic-nail-p-2859.html" target="_blank">2mm Square Stud Rhinestones (item ID 2859)</a> in silver because I figured silver would go with everything, and they wouldn't be too big for my nails. Let's take a look at what I came up with!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CUfyJEl3fgc/UtX2htOCMEI/AAAAAAAAIO0/drYsdbR3pR8/s1600/Born+Pretty+Store+2mm+Square+Studs+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CUfyJEl3fgc/UtX2htOCMEI/AAAAAAAAIO0/drYsdbR3pR8/s320/Born+Pretty+Store+2mm+Square+Studs+3.jpg" width="216" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-E4jKRV4m6F0/UtX2jPlbGmI/AAAAAAAAIO8/8TjFbfKRcuI/s1600/Born+Pretty+Store+2mm+Square+Studs+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="173" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-E4jKRV4m6F0/UtX2jPlbGmI/AAAAAAAAIO8/8TjFbfKRcuI/s320/Born+Pretty+Store+2mm+Square+Studs+2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I wanted to do a pink and grey mani with the silver studs, but was still unsure about what design I wanted to do. I cruised on over to Pinterest and searched for square stud manis for some inspiration. I also searched using Google Images search. I found <a href="http://lh3.ggpht.com/-1Ze6755QOMA/Ue4jH0q9yTI/AAAAAAAAOjQ/_Qva7KuTnjI/s1600-h/small_square_studs%25255B7%25255D.jpg" target="_blank">this design</a> on Google Images search and thought it would be perfect! I couldn't find the original blog post, but this design belongs to <a href="http://www.cosmeticproof.com/" target="_blank">Cosmetic Proof</a>.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I started with 3 coats of Essie Chinchilly, a unique grey with purple-ish/blue-ish undertones. I really like the colour of this, and I think it would depend what colour you put with it to what colour it leans towards. Then I taped off a triangle on each fingertip in a 90° angle so the square stud would fit into it nicely. Yup, I'm particular like that ;) I lined the triangle with my Jordana Pop Art nail striping polish in Star Designer to give it a little extra bling. Then, after applying a top coat, I used a dotting tool dipped in water to pick up and place each stud. I went nail-by-nail so the top coat didn't dry before I got the stud on.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I didn't bother applying a top coat over the entire thing once I got everything on, but I'm sure it would have held the studs on better. I had one fall off the morning after I did this mani, but that was my own laziness in not applying a final top coat.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The studs applied perfectly. They are easy to pick up and apply to the nail. The only thing I have to comment on is that they are a little heavier than the little round rhinestones or loose glitters, so it takes a little extra care between when you pick them up and when you get them on the nail. They don't like to stay stuck to the dotting tool. I would like to try one of those rhinestone picker-upper tools for these, just to see if it makes it easier. In the meantime, I may try to rig something up :)<br />

Hey everyone! I'm sure you're starting to wonder where the heck I have been these last few weeks, am I right?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Well, first we had Christmas break, where I did nothing but veg and visit with family for 2 weeks. And remember the <a href="http://ericasnailsandmore.blogspot.ca/2013/12/christmas-nails-4.html" target="_blank">present I was so excited for</a>? Tyler got me a new fur-baby for Christmas! Her name is Lexi, and she is a German Shepherd/Husky cross. She is the newest love of my life, even if she drives me insane with her puppy shenanigans ;)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Here is a picture of the bundle of <strike>terror</strike> joy with her big brother, Owen. They really do love each other, though Owen has his moments where he just wants her to go away.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PvXzKjCRAwA/UtWkty05h0I/AAAAAAAAIOk/nMaef5RZ-ls/s1600/Owen+&+Lexi.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PvXzKjCRAwA/UtWkty05h0I/AAAAAAAAIOk/nMaef5RZ-ls/s320/Owen+&+Lexi.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Tyler and I have been working on training her over the last few weeks, and it's not easy to get time to paint your nails when you have to house train a new puppy, let me tell you! I have painted my nails maybe 5 times since Christmas.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I hope to get back into the swing of things soon, I have a post ready for tomorrow, just need to get my pictures watermarked and uploaded. My goal is to be back as "full-time" as I can be by the end of the month. We'll see how that goes. Lexi is getting better every day, so I may have more time to paint my nails by the end of the month :)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
In other news, I have done some MAJOR destashing of my polishes, and have managed to get it down to under 200 bottles in my collection. Now I just have to find homes for almost 200 polishes that didn't make the cut... I'm not going to make a crazy New Year's Resolution No Buy like I did last year, cause I just let myself down in the end. I'm going to try to keep my polish collection under the 200 mark by giving one up every time I buy a new one.. we'll see how well I do with that. It really is impractical to have more than 200 polishes, and they just don't get the love they deserve when there are that many.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I will be posting my To Sell list on the swap boards on Facebook, and whatever I haven't been able to get rid of by the end of March will be donated to <a href="http://www.polishedgirlz.org/" target="_blank">Polished Girlz</a>, an organization that goes into childrens; hospitals, fund raiser events, and rehab facilities to pamper girls with a new mani.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
That's it for now, make sure to look for the post that will be up tomorrow!</div>

Good morning dear readers!! 4 MORE SLEEPS!! There is a present under the tree for me that I am DYING to open! It's from Tyler and he keeps taunting me with it, so I can't wait to tear into it Christmas morning :)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I have another Christmas mani for you this morning, let's check it out!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-F5MO48smOyI/UrW4lp4Z_uI/AAAAAAAAIN8/Ab-qpwWiqD8/s1600/Christmas+Mani+%234.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-F5MO48smOyI/UrW4lp4Z_uI/AAAAAAAAIN8/Ab-qpwWiqD8/s320/Christmas+Mani+%234.jpg" width="220" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is another simple one - I started with 2 beautiful coats of Julep Missy. Then I topped it off with one dab-ish coat of Elixir Lacquers Peppermint Barque. This is my favourite of the collection Nicole released last year for Christmas. It's definitely one to get you into the Christmas mood :D</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Peppermint Barque is composed of large white hex glitters, small red and green hex glitters, and holographic microglitters, though they are hard to see over the silver foil polish. The glitters disperse pretty well, though the white ones do tend to sink in the base a little bit, so some fishing is required after a few nails. I don't see that these are available anymore on the <a href="http://www.elixirlacquers.com/" target="_blank">Elixir Lacquers shop</a>, but there are some other great polishes there!</div>

Hey everyone and Happy Friday!! How many of you are done work for the Christmas season? Yesterday was my last day of work for the year, and I don't go back until January 6th!! WOOHOO!!!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I figured with it being less than 5 days till Christmas Day, I should <i>probably</i> post another Christmas mani! I did this a while ago, because as you know I have been losing my polishing mojo :( But, let's take a look!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-iJTk24WzIL4/UrTZ3hJ4sqI/AAAAAAAAINs/eNEiJDGtzmE/s1600/Chirstmas+Nails+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-iJTk24WzIL4/UrTZ3hJ4sqI/AAAAAAAAINs/eNEiJDGtzmE/s320/Chirstmas+Nails+3.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
For this mani, I started out with 2 beautiful coats of Zoya Storm, my favourite black polish ever! Then I used Julep Harley and Konad stamping plate M-79 to create the criss-cross design. Then I used a dotting tool with butter LONDON Pillar Box Red and Zoya Logan to dot the centres of the criss-crosses.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
My inspiration came from <a href="http://www.pinterest.com/pin/489273946988507475/" target="_blank">this pin on Pinterest</a>, but I thought I would jazz it up with something other than a plain black creme polish.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
What do you think? Christmassy enough? I really loved wearing this because it wasn't a traditional "red and green Christmas mani" :)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Are you ready for Christmas? I finished my shopping and wrapping today, just in the nick of time :D</div>

Hey everybody!!! I have another Christmas mani for you today! I didn't get to polishing last night because I was too busy making homemade sugar cookies so my sister and I can ice them tomorrow :D I'll post pictures of them on the <a href="http://www.facebook.com/ericasnailsandmore" target="_blank">Facebook page</a> when we have them done :)</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
...</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Got distracted at work, sorry. I'm back now and going to finish this up! Come check out the 2nd Christmas mani I did!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_L4HVMDKUeg/UqoZE_GoxaI/AAAAAAAAINc/tpBsiXuIxOg/s1600/Christmas+Mani+%232.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_L4HVMDKUeg/UqoZE_GoxaI/AAAAAAAAINc/tpBsiXuIxOg/s320/Christmas+Mani+%232.jpg" width="211" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I started out with 2 coats of Julep Jennifer. Then, I created freehand French tips with Zoya Logan, then Julep Missy, and did the red dots with my dotting tool and butter LONDON Pillar Box Red.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
My inspiration came from <a href="http://www.pinterest.com/pin/489273946987024119/" target="_blank">this Pinterest pin</a>, and while I love the way mine turned out, I still like the inspiration one better!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
What do you think?</div>

Hello and Happy Two Weeks till Christmas!! I can't believe we are so close! Next week is my last week of work, and Tyler and I are getting our tree this weekend! Yahoo!! Now, let's just hope that Owen doesn't pull it down while we are away at work next week, and that I manage to get all my shopping done before it's too late!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I know I promised a bunch of Christmas nails for the month of December, but I have lost my polish mojo.. again. I have done a few, so I will start with posting the first one I did - </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HEt7JWPm66U/UqiBlKJCUEI/AAAAAAAAINM/JyP2HsIu3IY/s1600/Christmas+Mani+%231.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-HEt7JWPm66U/UqiBlKJCUEI/AAAAAAAAINM/JyP2HsIu3IY/s320/Christmas+Mani+%231.jpg" width="237" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is a really simple one - 1 coat of Ninja Polish Candy Cane Floam over Sinful Colors Exotic Green. I like how simple this is, but it looks so festive at the same time!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I really love the Floam polishes, and glad I was able to snag the ones I have. Though I will say that the removal of them is a real pain.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Have you tried a Floam? Which is your favourite version?</div>

Hola readers!! I know I said that I would be on the ball this week with Nail Polish Canada's Holiday Nail Art Challenge, and I wasn't.. FAIL! I did have my mani done a few days ago, I just was being lazy and didn't get the post up.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This week's theme was Decorations. My idea came into my mind immediately when I saw the e-mail, and this is what I came up with!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4_d05Sc9R6U/UqPQY3a5PlI/AAAAAAAAIM8/gdaGHH5zI7U/s1600/NPC+Decorations+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="283" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-4_d05Sc9R6U/UqPQY3a5PlI/AAAAAAAAIM8/gdaGHH5zI7U/s320/NPC+Decorations+1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8_mOysBjc-A/UqPQW1U9xuI/AAAAAAAAIM0/Esozx6UmGR8/s1600/NPC+Decorations+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-8_mOysBjc-A/UqPQW1U9xuI/AAAAAAAAIM0/Esozx6UmGR8/s320/NPC+Decorations+2.jpg" width="259" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I started out with 2 coats of Julep Petra - this is a GORGEOUS colour! It's so beautiful!! Then I topped it with the Julep matte top coat. On my ring nail, I taped off a triangle, and then used striping tape to create "garland" lines on the tree, and filled in the triangle with JulieG Mistletoe. I added a silver rhinestone tree topper and dots of Julep Felicity, for the decorations.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Then I stamped the line design from BM-319 using Julep Felicity and Harley for tinsel :)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I really love how this mani turned out, it's exactly like I had it in my head, and that's always rewarding!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
What do you guys think? Make sure to head on over to the <a href="http://www.nailpolishcanada.com/2013-holiday-nail-art-challenge-week-2-decorations/" target="_blank">Nail Polish Canada Holiday Nail Art Challenge page</a> and vote for your favourite Decorations design.</div>

Good morning everyone! I hope your first week of December is treating you well! Only 20 more sleeps till the big guy is here! I have started my Christmas shopping, but hope that Tyler and I can get a good chunk of it done this coming weekend :)<br />
<br />
Today I have a quick post with a mani that I did a couple weeks ago for the opening weekend of Catching Fire, the second installment of the Hunger Games trilogy. This is one of my favourite trilogies, and of course I had to go and watch it with my bestest friend, and movie-buddy, and have a girls' weekend :D</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Qbf1dUn_pg4/Up_sAZW0ZoI/AAAAAAAAIMI/edQj7nBMtaE/s1600/Catching+Fire+Nails.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Qbf1dUn_pg4/Up_sAZW0ZoI/AAAAAAAAIMI/edQj7nBMtaE/s320/Catching+Fire+Nails.jpg" width="195" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
For this I started with 2 coats of Julep Nadia, a light yellow shimmer. This is a really interesting colour, and I kind of like it. Then, I followed <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbS5rL_PMmY" target="_blank">cutepolish's tutorial for Catching Fire nails</a> using a random orange shimmer polish, and Julep Karmen to create the flame tips, and my Jordana Pop Art Black Mark striper polish.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Overall, I love the look of this mani, and loved the movie!! It was just as exciting as Hunger Games, and can't wait for the final movie to come out, but I don't know when that is yet.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Did you go watch Catching Fire? Did you do your nails to match the occasion?</div>

Happy Sunday everyone, and Happy December 1st!! Only 24 more sleeps :D</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I have a late mani submission for the Nail Polish Canada Holiday Nail Art Challenge. Yes, I have had all week to do it, but I have been super lazy and only did it last night, very last minute. Let's take a look - I am very excited for the way this turned out! The theme for this week's challenge was snow, my FAVOURITE part of winter and Christmas :D</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YUiIbLlaHgM/Upq6D3U2xDI/AAAAAAAAILg/9-rqulc1soQ/s1600/NPC+Snow+Nails+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-YUiIbLlaHgM/Upq6D3U2xDI/AAAAAAAAILg/9-rqulc1soQ/s320/NPC+Snow+Nails+1.jpg" width="285" /></a></div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XcmkB6_DZ3I/Upq6Eim3BxI/AAAAAAAAILk/-B0aFHXEYQE/s1600/NPC+Snow+Nails+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-XcmkB6_DZ3I/Upq6Eim3BxI/AAAAAAAAILk/-B0aFHXEYQE/s320/NPC+Snow+Nails+2.jpg" width="268" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hYMl8_wsD08/UptPwNid6NI/AAAAAAAAIL4/lI2z67rFqVM/s1600/NPC+Snow+Nails+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-hYMl8_wsD08/UptPwNid6NI/AAAAAAAAIL4/lI2z67rFqVM/s320/NPC+Snow+Nails+3.jpg" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="text-align: justify;">For this mani, I started off with 2 coats of Essie Butler Please. The polish is a little darker in person, but you know how those darn cameras can be when photographing blues (and purples)! The 3rd picture is the most colour-accurate. Then I used Julep Harley (silver metallic) and Fina (sky blue metallic), and the </span><a href="http://www.bornprettystore.com/nail-stamp-template-cute-snowflake-design-qa58-p-5695.html" style="text-align: justify;" target="_blank">Born Pretty Store snowflake stamping plate QA58</a><span style="text-align: justify;"> to stamp on some snow flakes. Then I topped it off with a thin layer of OPI Pirouette My Whistle, trying to do a from-the-cuticle glitter gradient. Then, my favourite part of all, I applied a </span><a href="http://www.bornprettystore.com/snow-shiny-tiny-glitter-powder-sheets-tips-nail-decoration-p-2365.html" style="text-align: justify;" target="_blank">snowflake glitter, also from Born Pretty Store</a><span style="text-align: justify;">, to each nail using some top coat to stick them down. I am finding with these glitters that the little spokes of the snowflake like to stick up, even when you apply a top coat over top, so just keep that in mind if you decide you MUST have these glitters in your life :) They are totally worth it though, I promise!</span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I can't wait to see what theme Nail Polish Canada comes up with for this coming week. I will try to be more on the ball this time 'round :D</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Don't forget to head over to the <a href="http://www.nailpolishcanada.com/2013-holiday-nail-art-challenge-week-1-snow/" target="_blank">Nail Polish Canada voting page</a> to check out the other entries, and vote for your favourite design!</div>

Evening! I almost forgot to post this today! Well, here we are on the last day of November, the Christmas season will start in full swing tomorrow, and I will be able to plug my Christmas lights in :D YAY! Tyler and I put the outside lights up a few weekends ago, taking advantage of a warm day, but I haven't been "allowed" to turn them on until December 1st.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
It's Swatch-It-Up-Saturday and I have a LOT of catching up to do. This is going to be a picture-heavy post, so let's get right to it.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Bql7du5aDW0/UdeD1f-zLiI/AAAAAAAAHxY/b7AzxStZpUA/s1600/Swatch+It+Up+Saturday+Banner.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="43" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Bql7du5aDW0/UdeD1f-zLiI/AAAAAAAAHxY/b7AzxStZpUA/s320/Swatch+It+Up+Saturday+Banner.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<a name='more'></a><br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AHct98hsURo/UpVNJvuQRqI/AAAAAAAAILE/9M_GYDscZPo/s1600/butter+LONDON+Jack+the+Lad.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AHct98hsURo/UpVNJvuQRqI/AAAAAAAAILE/9M_GYDscZPo/s320/butter+LONDON+Jack+the+Lad.jpg" width="227" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is 2 coats of butter LONDON Jack the Lad. I love this green! It's a perfect Christmas-y green polish, and it applied super smoothly. And a bonus? It removed just as easy as a creme even though it's full of microglitters!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yiulRuNGAfw/UpVMugmdqfI/AAAAAAAAIJo/veIIALwW7EM/s1600/China+Glaze+Blue+Bells+Ring.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-yiulRuNGAfw/UpVMugmdqfI/AAAAAAAAIJo/veIIALwW7EM/s320/China+Glaze+Blue+Bells+Ring.jpg" width="262" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is 2 coats of China Glaze Blue Bells Ring. I love the colour of this polish, however it wasn't the easiest to apply or take off. The brush streaked the polish pretty bad, so there were some silver streaks through the polish even though you can't see it in the picture. This is also a stainer - the skin around my nails look like I beat up a smurf! It's not quite as bright as it's showing in the picture, but it does glow :D</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-OL6bwNelQKU/UpVMthSzfdI/AAAAAAAAIJk/H4vqz4UcLcU/s1600/China+Glaze+Get+Carried+Away.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-OL6bwNelQKU/UpVMthSzfdI/AAAAAAAAIJk/H4vqz4UcLcU/s320/China+Glaze+Get+Carried+Away.jpg" width="230" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is 2 coats of China Glaze Get Carried Away. I really love this polish! It's black, silver and rose-gold hex glitters, microglitters, and black bar glitters in a black jelly base. You could layer this over black, but I think it looks great on its own over bare nails too :)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-U73At-_s7pU/UpVMtvyb2zI/AAAAAAAAIJg/1aTVAOqs3Sg/s1600/Deborah+Lippmann+Raspberry+Beret.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-U73At-_s7pU/UpVMtvyb2zI/AAAAAAAAIJg/1aTVAOqs3Sg/s320/Deborah+Lippmann+Raspberry+Beret.jpg" width="251" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is 2 coats of Deborah Lippmann Raspberry Beret. I just want to take a moment to say that I love the mini Deborah Lippmann polish bottles! They are just so cute! This polish is GOR-GEOUS!!! I think this is one of my top favourite polishes in my collection! This is a raspberry jelly polish jam-packed with flakie glitters. It reminds me of raspberry jam on my nails :D Om nom nom!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DOPurqX45uI/UpVMzoJWFkI/AAAAAAAAIJ4/a7p5h86PHmk/s1600/Elixir+Lacquers+With+a+K+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-DOPurqX45uI/UpVMzoJWFkI/AAAAAAAAIJ4/a7p5h86PHmk/s320/Elixir+Lacquers+With+a+K+1.jpg" width="238" /></a><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RcNh3j9q5Og/UpVM0UnCDuI/AAAAAAAAIJ8/QOPBImkdqjw/s1600/Elixir+Lacquers+With+a+K+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-RcNh3j9q5Og/UpVM0UnCDuI/AAAAAAAAIJ8/QOPBImkdqjw/s320/Elixir+Lacquers+With+a+K+2.jpg" width="254" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is 2 coats of Elixir Lacquers With a K. It's a perfect pink jelly polish loaded with holo micro and hex glitters. The pictures shown on the <a href="http://elixirlacquers.com/With-a-K-020.htm" target="_blank">listing for this polish</a> are very deceiving. This is a bright pink polish, it makes me think of "bedazzled Barbie" :D I put this on in October for Breast Cancer Awareness.. and you can tell from that just how long I have been stashing pictures!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is 3 coats of Girly Bits Glo Worm. I got this for my youngest sister for Christmas last year, without knowing that she was more of a pink polish person. So I told her that if she doesn't want it, I want to add it to my stash ;) I'm glad I did, I love this! It's highligher-bright green jelly polish with a gold shimmer throughout. This is definitely unique in my stash, and can't wait to see what else I can come up with for this one. You can find Girly Bits polish on the <a href="http://www.girlybitscosmetics.com/" target="_blank">Girly Bits online store</a>.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7H4KvdCDP1k/UpVM69oJFZI/AAAAAAAAIKQ/0XLdtGLlH-c/s1600/Julep+Erica.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7H4KvdCDP1k/UpVM69oJFZI/AAAAAAAAIKQ/0XLdtGLlH-c/s320/Julep+Erica.jpg" width="197" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is 2 coats (1 regular, 1 thick/dabbing) of Julep Erica, the mystery glitter polish from the Julep New Year's Eve Mystery Box last year, and my first time using it.. I know, I know!! This is a stunning black, brown and silver full coverage glitter. I love it, and not just because it's my (correctly spelled) namesake polish, it's gorgeous! I wore this without a top coat because I figured it would gobble up the top coat like no tomorrow :) </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mcKvHszh7sY/UpVM8gXALbI/AAAAAAAAIKg/ziVnzBoIan4/s1600/Julep+Karmen.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-mcKvHszh7sY/UpVM8gXALbI/AAAAAAAAIKg/ziVnzBoIan4/s320/Julep+Karmen.jpg" width="195" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is 2 coats of Julep Karmen. I really love this polish, it's perfect for fall! It's a gorgeous deep red polish with gold shimmer. It applied super easy, and no staining. It's like fall in a bottle, and I think this might be a close runner-up for a wedding polish colour ;)</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-maF_Rm9b4lA/UpVM7nJgSKI/AAAAAAAAIKU/o-Cq2xXS3U4/s1600/Julep+Kennedy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-maF_Rm9b4lA/UpVM7nJgSKI/AAAAAAAAIKU/o-Cq2xXS3U4/s320/Julep+Kennedy.jpg" width="204" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is 2 coats of Julep Kennedy. I wasn't too sure about this polish, but when I put it on I actually liked it. This is one of the most surprising polishes in my collection. This applied great, and while the first coat was a little streaky, the second coat evened everything out :)</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-35tNO5e6-uM/UpVNBsoKRgI/AAAAAAAAIKo/_XoiB1m_ZwU/s1600/Julep+Nadia.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-35tNO5e6-uM/UpVNBsoKRgI/AAAAAAAAIKo/_XoiB1m_ZwU/s320/Julep+Nadia.jpg" width="185" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is 2 coats of Julep Nadia. Again, a surprising polish. I am not a fan of the colour yellow in general, but yellow polishes tend to draw me in for some reason. I love the shimmer in this polish. The only downside to this polish is that it did stain my nails a little bit, so just a word of caution to you :) The shimmer in this polish is perfect, and I think this will make a great Christmas polish :D</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CVtKXGgBicw/UpVNDooa2RI/AAAAAAAAIK0/7a3ujL0Hdkw/s1600/Julep+Patti.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CVtKXGgBicw/UpVNDooa2RI/AAAAAAAAIK0/7a3ujL0Hdkw/s320/Julep+Patti.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
This is 2 coats of Julep Sadie, one of the Sea Salt polishes. I love this polish! It's gorgeous! Many people have mentioned that this is very similar, if not the same, as Zoya Dahlia. The sparkle in this polish is perfect, and catches the light just right. I really love textured polishes, and this is one of my favourites :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wVOCaToWb-I/UpVNDsHDHzI/AAAAAAAAIKw/L4kvrJPGWgw/s1600/JulieG+Mistletoe.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-wVOCaToWb-I/UpVNDsHDHzI/AAAAAAAAIKw/L4kvrJPGWgw/s320/JulieG+Mistletoe.jpg" width="241" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is 2 coats of JulieG Mistletoe! I love me some JulieG textured polishes. This is one of the polishes from the Holiday Frosted Gumdrops collection that was just released. This is a perfect Christmas green polish, and applied perfect, as is typical of the other JulieG Gumdrop polishes.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AuHQrIVBDQU/UpVNIxIb1MI/AAAAAAAAILA/1ztGnS2SOAA/s1600/OPI+Get+Your+Number.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-AuHQrIVBDQU/UpVNIxIb1MI/AAAAAAAAILA/1ztGnS2SOAA/s320/OPI+Get+Your+Number.jpg" width="218" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is 2 coats of OPI Get Your Number. I like this polish, but after wearing it, I decided it just wasn't for me. The base is very jelly-like, as you can tell from the visible nail line in the pictures. It's not as visible in person. I do love the shimmer of this polish, and the texture is nice and fine, not too gritty. I prefer the JulieG Gumdrop polishes over this, and the other OPI Liquid Sands polishes I have tried. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gkQVk7ao7wU/UpVNJncEMVI/AAAAAAAAILM/AZUKrduCpeU/s1600/Sinful+Colours+Exotic+Green.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gkQVk7ao7wU/UpVNJncEMVI/AAAAAAAAILM/AZUKrduCpeU/s320/Sinful+Colours+Exotic+Green.jpg" width="234" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is 2 coats of Sinful Colors Exotic Green. This is a great holiday green polish. I used it in lots of nail art last year for Christmas nails throughout December, but this is the first time I have used it as a base for anything. The application of this polish is great - and this polish is great for water marbling!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Well, that wraps up Swatch-It-Up-Saturday for this week. Sorry it took me so long to get a post up, but as you can see, I have been busy working on swatches.</div>

Good morning and Happy Monday! It's a beautifully chilly winter's day today! We got a couple inches of snow over the weekend while I was away watching Hunger Games, so the entire town is blanketed in a gorgeous layer of the white stuff :D Christmas carols are running through my head all of my waking hours now, and I have graduated from snowflake/winter earrings to Christmas ones! Is anyone else getting excited??<br />
<br />
Let's get to the nails. I did these a while back and was reluctant to even post them because I couldn't get them to look right in the pictures. I loved this mani, the pictures didn't do it any justice at all!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nBqzagohWDc/UowiImWfkbI/AAAAAAAAII8/K-4gH0BQGMw/s1600/Color+Club+Halo+Hues+Gradient.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nBqzagohWDc/UowiImWfkbI/AAAAAAAAII8/K-4gH0BQGMw/s320/Color+Club+Halo+Hues+Gradient.jpg" width="312" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
For this I started with 2 coats of Color Club Eternal Beauty. Of my select few holo polishes, Eternal Beauty is by far my favourite! Could be partially cause it's purple... ;)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Then I used a yellow kitchen sponge and created a gradient using Color Club Eternal Beauty and Halo-graphic. When that was dry, I applied striping tape on my ring nail and created a gradient using the same polishes but in the reverse order over the striping tape.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I have to say that while I love tape and stripe manis, striping tape is such a pain to work with. Hence why I only did my ring nail :) And I was lazy and didn't apply a top coat before I showered, so that's why there are marks on the middle nail from washing my hair. Yup, this was a lazy-day mani!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
What do you think? I love how well the Halo Hues polishes sponge on in a gradient and how well these two shades work together.</div>

Morning, morning, morning! It's a beautiful day here in Ontario! A "balmy" -6°C and a heavy frost all over everything this morning. I love nothing more than stepping out in to the frosty cold and taking a deep breath of icy coldness :D I'm whacked, what're ya gonna do?? ;) PS - T-minus 5 weeks till Christmas Day today! Be prepared for an onslaught of Christmas nails starting in December!<br />
<br />
I have some nails for you guys today that I did quite a few weeks ago for when I went up to a gig my friend's band was doing. They don't play my kind of music (country bumpkin over here), but I figured on some rock being played so I tried to do a mani that would suit.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Y_BFe-I2sSw/UowkTwPMeVI/AAAAAAAAIJM/k8YfJ4fnC7w/s1600/Water+Decals+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="231" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Y_BFe-I2sSw/UowkTwPMeVI/AAAAAAAAIJM/k8YfJ4fnC7w/s320/Water+Decals+1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<a name='more'></a><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QpL85Y2hj7Q/UowkTiw7mSI/AAAAAAAAIJI/RIzC9F2Ji_I/s1600/Water+Decals+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QpL85Y2hj7Q/UowkTiw7mSI/AAAAAAAAIJI/RIzC9F2Ji_I/s320/Water+Decals+2.jpg" width="254" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I started with 2 coats of Julep Sadie, one of their glittery Sea Salt polishes. I. Am. In. Love. with this polish! It's perfect! Lots of people say that it's close to Zoya Dahlia from the original Pixie Dust collection. I don't have Dahlia, so I can't do a compare for you guys, but when I compare them in pictures this looks close enough for me that I don't need both :)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Then I applied rose water decals that I ordered from the BornPrettyStore. These are different to use than I expected. I thought they would apply like those temporary tattoos I used to have as a kid, but they weren't. You have to remove the design off of the backing paper after soaking it in water for a few seconds, and then apply them to the nail, colour-side up. Then apply pressure to seal it onto the nail with a wet cloth or paper towel, then carefully blot dry.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I really love the way this turned out, and I didn't have an issue applying these to a textured polish as opposed to a smooth polish. I think that the sparkly texture background makes the mani that much more beautiful, but with some edginess.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You can buy this decal design <a href="http://www.bornprettystore.com/flower-rose-nail-water-decals-transfer-stickers-y062g103-p-6577.html" target="_blank">here</a> (choose option G103). The thing I love about the BornPrettyStore is that they have FREE world-wide shipping!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
What do you think? Did I succeed in my attempt at some "rockin' nails"? Have you tried the water decals from the BornPrettyStore?</div>

Hey everybody!! I'M BACK!! I have most of the big details, like vendors, booked for the wedding, and I think I am safe to come back to blogging on a fairly regular basis :D</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Let's get right to the nails, and then I will catch you up on everything I have been up to for the last month-ish.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-H7mcA5t8Ndo/UowU0FL-3oI/AAAAAAAAIIs/6qvUKET26xw/s1600/Hallowe'en+Nails.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-H7mcA5t8Ndo/UowU0FL-3oI/AAAAAAAAIIs/6qvUKET26xw/s320/Hallowe'en+Nails.jpg" width="227" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<a name='more'></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is what I threw on when I got home from work on Hallowe'en night, before the little kidlets showed up for candy. This was mine and Tyler's first year handing out candy on Hallowe'en in our own home. We got about 20 kids, and even had a little guy dressed as the red Angry Bird :D Tyler loves playing Angry Birds, so I made sure that he got to see the little guy!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
For this, I started with 2 coats of Bondi The Limelight, then topped it with Julep Sofia, which is a glow-in-the-dark green glitter polish. Then I topped it off with Elixir Lacquers Snowman Suite. Who knew that a <i>Christmas</i> glitter would be so perfect for a Hallowe'en mani?! I love the way this turned out! What about you?</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Alrighty, now for the updates on my life :D Tyler and I have been working at getting everything booked venue- and vendor-wise for the wedding. So far we have the venue and the DJ booked, have decided on what kind of cake we want, our bridal party confirmed, and have been getting quotes for photographers, flowers and other little things. And, most important of it all, <i>I HAVE MY DRESS</i>!!! I found one online that I wanted to try on after going shopping with my Matron of Honour, so I e-mailed the shop and they told me that they didn't sell that designer anymore. <b>However</b>, they had my size, in the colour I wanted, in stock AND on clearance!! I got them to hold it for me and rushed up to the store with my sister (one of my bridesmaids) later that week to try it on to make sure I loved it, fell head over heels in love with it, and bought it on the spot.. when I could finally make myself take it off ;) Oh, and we also ordered and have picked up our rings!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
What's been new with you guys??</div>

Good afternoon lovely readers!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I just wanted to give you all a quick update - I know I have been pretty MIA the last little while, but I'm still here! I have been really busy working on wedding plans and booking everything that needs to be booked the last couple of weeks. I am going to take a break from blogging since planning has taken over my evenings and I hardly have time for even changing my polish.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I will still be interacting with everyone on the <a href="http://www.facebook.com/ericasnailsandmore" target="_blank">Facebook page</a>, and I'm thinking I might start just post my current manis there.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I hope you all will still be following me when I get back, though I'm not sure yet when that will be. I hope you all understand!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Love you all!</div>
Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15313408947689071368noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9098226861094954681.post-40992574562821155322013-10-21T11:56:00.000-04:002013-10-21T11:56:14.956-04:00Dot Shower Mani - Facebook Request<div style="text-align: justify;">
Good morning, happy Monday! Tyler and I were looking at the weather forecast for this week and they are predicting wet flurries over night for all of this week :D YIPPEE!!! (Yes, I'm sick in the head, it's all good ;) )</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Today I have a mani I did a while back (and the last of my "draft" posts) that was suggested to me by a Facebook fan and friend, Kim! I asked my followers to send me links of manis they wanted me to try to replicate and she was the only one with suggestions, and she continues to send me suggestions from time to time. Here was <a href="http://www.pinterest.com/pin/489273946987679322/" target="_blank">the inspiration</a> for this mani. Let's take a look at what I did :)</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-V5pcmfPHKyo/UlTA0mK6CtI/AAAAAAAAIHg/zA8TswtgQTk/s1600/Dot+Shower+Mani+(FB+request).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-V5pcmfPHKyo/UlTA0mK6CtI/AAAAAAAAIHg/zA8TswtgQTk/s320/Dot+Shower+Mani+(FB+request).jpg" width="239" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
</div>
<a name='more'></a>I started off with 2 coats of Avon Blue Royale, the blue suede polish. Then using a white striper polish, I created the half moon (which I think I did too large). Then with Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear White On and a dotting tool I created the "dot shower" to the tip of my nail. I wasn't impressed with the way this turned out, so I only did an accent nail, but I topped all my nails with Seche Vite, and look at the beauty that the suede polish turns into with a glossy top coat!<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I want to try this again, but I will make sure that I do a smaller half moon and use a smaller dotting tool for the "shower" part of the mani.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
What do you think? Have you topped a suede polish with a glossy top coat before?</div>

Happy Saturday everyone! Thursday night I came home from work to find TWO parcels in the mail box - both from <a href="http://www.facebook.com/timelesstopcoats" target="_blank">Amber</a>. One was chuck-full of all of the polishes she's been hoarding for me from people who won't ship to Canada, and the other was full of Hallowe'en candy and treats!! Gotta love bootleggers ;) Check out what I got!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-CmvKKcKsBnA/UmF9Y7DoHrI/AAAAAAAAIIU/eAY6topMrmo/s1600/IMG_9599.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="221" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-CmvKKcKsBnA/UmF9Y7DoHrI/AAAAAAAAIIU/eAY6topMrmo/s320/IMG_9599.JPG" width="320" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Left to Right:<br />
a England Galahad, Sindie POP! Summer Sadness, Elevation Polish Owen, China Glaze Keep Calm Paint On, Lush Lacquer Clowning Around, Aly's Dream Polish Cheeky Lychee, Deborah Lippmann Do the Mermaid, OPI Ogre the Top Blue</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<a name='more'></a>So which one do you start with?! They are all so great and when I swatched them on nail sticks, they were all even better!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I decided on Sindie POP! Summer Sadness. This is the one I was the MOST excited about getting!! Let's take a look!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
GOR-GEOUS!!! As soon as I saw the preview swatches on Sindie POP!'s <a href="http://www.facebook.com/sindiepoplacquer" target="_blank">Facebook page</a> I knew I just HAD to have it!!!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is 2 coats of Summer Sadness. It is a while crelly base, similar to Essie Marshmallow, chuck-full of a ton of glitters - plum, blue and green hexes, blue, white and magenta mini hexes, and gold micro hexes. The formula of this polish is great and the glitter pay off is excellent!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
You can find this polish and lots of other great polishes on the <a href="http://sindiepoplacquer.ecrater.com/" target="_blank">Sindie POP! eCrater store</a>. Just a note, she only ships within the US, so if you are International, you will have to order and send it to a US friend so they can forward it onto you.</div>

Afternoon my loves! What's shakin'? Almost another day of work behind me, and the weekend almost within my grasp! Tyler and I are going to be heading to my friend's house Saturday to go and see another friend and his band play in their hometown (they normally play in the Toronto area) and I'm kind of excited even though it's at a bar (I don't drink) and they don't play my kind of music. I don't get out much though :P</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I have another Hallowe'en mani for you today! I found the inspiration for this one on Pinterest, here's the <a href="http://www.polish-me.com/halloween-nails-the-sunday-nail-battle-snb/" target="_blank">link to the original picture</a>. Here is my "rendition"!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4BbbVdWcNJA/UlS_38Web0I/AAAAAAAAIHQ/t7BHYnsrXaA/s1600/Hallowe'en+Mani+%235.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-4BbbVdWcNJA/UlS_38Web0I/AAAAAAAAIHQ/t7BHYnsrXaA/s320/Hallowe'en+Mani+%235.jpg" width="201" /></a></div>
<br />
<a name='more'></a><span style="text-align: justify;">What do you think? Did I do good?? I started with 2 coats of Julep Kennedy - one of my new favourite nude polishes - and then using Julep Cody I created a French Tip. Then I took my black striper polish and created the stitches along the colour line. Super easy, and super cute</span><span style="text-align: justify;">, right? I am planning to do something similar yet this month (where is time going?!) with more Frankenstein-ish colours :) Hopefully I get to it before Hallowe'en has come and gone!</span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
What is everyone doing for Hallowe'en? This will be my first year handing out candy and I'm kind of excited! I have always lived in the country so we never had any trick-or-treaters. We used to carve jack-o-lanterns, but no one ever came to see it, lol! I'm not dressing up to hand out candy, but I will be doing my nails and wearing my cute Hallowe'en earrings ;)</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Good morning! I hope everyone is recovering well from Turkey Weekend! I had 3 dinners to go to, and I stuffed my face at each one!! WOO!! And the dieting starts ;)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So I have some news, if you haven't seen it already on my <a href="http://www.facebook.com/ericasnailsandmore" target="_blank">Facebook page</a>, Tyler and I have decided on a wedding date!! We have been engaged for just over 6 years now, and it's high-time we decided, huh?! ;) I have been keeping this a secret ever since I went to Tyler's friend's wedding back in September because we were wanting to tell our families on Thanksgiving weekend because that was the only time we were going to be all together and see everyone at the same time. It actually worked out perfectly because all the families (Tyler's mom and both of my grandparents) were all able to have their dinners on a different day, so we weren't racing around to each family dinner and got to chillax with everyone :)</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Onto the nails! Today I have for you my first ever loose glitter placement mani! This is inspired by Laura over at <a href="http://www.polishallthenails.com/" target="_blank">PolishAllTheNails</a> because she does some BEAUTIFUL loose glitter placement manis and I admire each and every one of them!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FWDEQGjNCns/UlTAWYv3U_I/AAAAAAAAIHY/8qxpju2qrBg/s1600/First+Loose+Glitter+Mani.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FWDEQGjNCns/UlTAWYv3U_I/AAAAAAAAIHY/8qxpju2qrBg/s320/First+Loose+Glitter+Mani.jpg" width="308" /></a></div>
<br />
<a name='more'></a><div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="text-align: justify;">I started with 2 coats of (my favourite blue polish) Julep Bess, isn't it such a gorgeous and cheerful blue?! Perfection!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Then, I used Essence Effect Nails loose glitter in Miss Blue Eyes, and got to work on my loose glitter placement mani following Laura's <a href="http://www.polishallthenails.com/2012/04/tutorial-glitter-mosaic-nails.html" target="_blank">tutorial</a>. Let me tell you that <i>this</i> Miss Blue Eyes's eyes were crossed by the time I was done this one nail! I decided to only do the one accent nail because the glitter was too tiny for this beginner to be doing something like this. The idea with these glitters is to dunk your wet nail into the little pot and completely cover the nail with the glitters rather than placing them individually.</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I do have some larger glitters (silver holo hexes) that I will be trying this with very soon (and I got some snowflake glitters, but I have been told by a certain someone *cough* <a href="https://www.facebook.com/TimelessTopcoats" target="_blank">Amber</a> *cough* that I'm not allowed to do Christmas manis yet) and I can't wait to give it a try! At least with the larger glitters it'll seem like a breeze compared to this ;)</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The thing I love about this, rather than dunking my nail into the glitters, is that the glitters lay perfectly flat even with a thin top coat. No snagging, no catching, no desire to remove it because they are driving me batty! And it was so sparkly :)</div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Thank you, Laura, for inspiring me to do this kind of mani! While this didn't turn out as beautiful as yours normally are, we all have to start somewhere! :D</div>
