Nail-aween Nail Art Challenge Day 3

Hey everybody!  Happy Thanksgiving Monday to all my Canadian readers!  I hope everyone had a delicious weekend :D  I had 2 turkey dinners and forgot to wear my stretchy pants to both :(

I have for you today my Day 3 for SassyNails/datyorkLOVES Nail-aween Nail Art Challenge.  Today's Challenge is Bloody Nails.  I have been wanting to try nails like this for a little while now, though I did it different than people normally do.  Rather than putting a dot of polish and connecting it to a "French tip" I just painted lines of polish with the polish brush and connected them to a "French tip", see how that's slightly different?!  :D

I used Julep Alyson as my base colour then topped it off with Essie Matte About You top coat.  Then for the "blood" I used a no-name dark red polish that came in one of those make-up kits you can get around Christmas time.  I thought it was a perfect blood-red colour :)  I top-coated that with quick dry top coat to make it look really shiny, like fresh blood :)

I think this looks pretty sweet and very Hallowe'en-y :D

Here is the rest of the Challenge, this is so much fun!

  1. Love it! Although I have to admit, it's slightly disturbing. In a good way!

    1. Haha, thanks Allie! :D I think it's perfect for Hallowe'en, I was inspired by all those "paint drip" nails out there :)
