Essie Aruba Blue

Good morning happy readers!  I hope you are enjoying your Monday better than I am so far :)  I hate Mondays...

Anywho, today I have for you the swatch of Essie Aruba Blue that I promised you on... Friday.. *hangs head* I'm a bad, bad blogger :(  I was then planning to get this up yesterday, and we all know how that went, lol!

Alright, enough whining, onto the pictures!  Hold onto your hats, this is one stunning blue!

This is 2 coats of Essie Aruba Blue :D  It's so gorgeous, I couldn't stop looking at it!  I got this in a swap from the lovely April from Southern Sass and Sparkle at the end of the summer.. maybe August/September.  I have been admiring this polish from afar for a long time and never picked it up at the store.  I'm so glad she had it up for swap :D  It's my new favourite blue!  But, is it a metallic, is it a shimmer?  I'm not really sure... It has some shimmer to it, but it's so reflective that it's like a metallic... Whatever it is, it's gorgeous :D  And I can't believe that I have waited so long to try it!

After I put this on, I was thinking to myself "this looks a lot like Ninja Polish Sapphire Dreams..." so watch for a comparison post coming up in the near future :)  I have the intention of doing it, but when I actually get it done, that's the real question, lol!

Do you like Essie polishes?  I think they are one of my favourite brands though I don't own a whole lot of them.  The only thing I don't like about them is the bristles of the brush seem to be a little courser than other polish brands, so you have to be really careful that the brush doesn't drag the first coat of polish leaving you with bald spots on your nails, especially at the cuticle.

  1. I have this one and love it! I love most of my Essies, but the main problem I have with them is they can be a bit streaky on the first, and sometimes second, coat. I have Chocolate Cakes and while I love the color, it's like painting your nails with hot fudge or something.

    1. Oh really? Have you tried adding thinner to it, or is it pretty thin already?
And I would totally buy a polish called Chocolate Cakes, just for the name... :D

    2. Thinner is something I keep forgetting. I really need to get off my butt and buy some. Lol, it does look like chocolate sauce!

  2. I'm so happy you love this blue, Erica. It looks great on you!

I love Essie polishes. I find that some of them do have issues with bald spots but it tends to be their darkest and lightest shades. I never have trouble with their pinks or lavenders. Can't wait to afford to send out Chinchilly so you can see if that formula is a better fit.

    1. Thanks my dear! :D
The other one I have "issues" with is Merino Cool, it seems to drag too. This one was great though :)
