Christmas Nails #1

Hello and Happy Two Weeks till Christmas!!  I can't believe we are so close!  Next week is my last week of work, and Tyler and I are getting our tree this weekend!  Yahoo!!  Now, let's just hope that Owen doesn't pull it down while we are away at work next week, and that I manage to get all my shopping done before it's too late!

I know I promised a bunch of Christmas nails for the month of December, but I have lost my polish mojo.. again.  I have done a few, so I will start with posting the first one I did -

Swatch-It-Up-Saturday Sep 21

What a dreary morning - looks like a perfect day for doing lots of swatches while Tyler is working :)

Another week over, and lots of swatches to show you from the past week, so let's get to it, shall we?

Ninja Polish Floam

Good morning!  I hope everyone has recovered from the long weekend.  Show of hands, who had a 4-day weekend... anyone?  Not I :(  I feel like I'm dragging butt today though, I'm still not recovered from the lack of sleep this past weekend.

Anywho, today I have a polish I have been meaning to try for a while, I have had it probably since the fall and this is my first time wearing it.  This is Ninja Polish Floam (originally from Nail-Venturous).

Ninja Polish Nebula

Good evening everyone!  Welcome to 2013!!  Can you believe that another year has gone by??  Where does the time go?

Tyler and I stayed in last night.  I was on Facebook and he was playing his video game, and spending some time with my parents and aunt and uncle who came over for a few hours.  I'm not a partier or drinker so New Years Eve doesn't really do anything for me, just another night ;)

Today I have for you the nails I did for last night but wanted to photograph in the bright sunlight, and lucky for me the skies were clear and the sun was shining bright before I went to our family New Years Day lunch this afternoon.

Are you ready for this?!  You may want to get your shades out before scrolling further ;)  This is also going to be extremely picture heavy as I tried to capture the beauty of this polish from all angles.

Ninja Polish Festive Floam

5 more days till Santa is here!!!!!  And we still don't have enough snow for him to land on our roof :(  We're supposed to be getting a "messy winter storm" tonight and into tomorrow so maybe it will be a white Christmas afterall!

Because I was lazy, and ran out of time last night, I have for you a glittery Christmas mani that I am already dreading the removal of, even with my trusty acetone :(

This is 2 coats of Ninja Polish Festive Floam over 2 coats of Julep Courteney.  I think this combination works so well because Courteney keeps it bright and cheery, and Christmasy, but doesn't make the colours in the glitter disappear.

I must say I'm really impressed with how well Festive Floam builds to almost full opacity with only 2 coats.  I think with 3 coats it would be solid glitter without having to worry about bare patches.  I will say though that my camera freaked out when I was trying to take pictures of this, so I apologize for the poor quality.

Want your own Ninja Polish Festive Floam?  Head over to their shop!  You might have to hurry though, I'm not sure how long they are going to keep their Christmas polishes in stock.

Julep Leah & Ninja Polish Shattered Star

Only 2 more days of work!  I have no desire to work today, or for the rest of the week for that matter!  I keep thinking it's Wednesday too, so that doesn't make it any better, lol!

My sister is home from school for the Christmas break and tonight we are going to watch Breaking Dawn Part 2 :D  I haven't seen it since my Twilight Saga Marathon back on November 17th, and I can't wait to watch it again!

Today I have for you something that was supposed to look Christmasy but it really looks like something more for St. Patrick's Day... *sigh*  Don't you hate when things never turn out the way you have pictured in your head?

This is Julep Leah, which is a beautiful green with a slight shimmer in it.  This will be perfect for St. Patrick's Day, but it isn't very Christmasy.  Then I topped it with Ninja Polish Shattered Star from their Holiday collection.  I was going to put this over black but then didn't think that was quite Christmasy enough.

If you are looking to buy some Shattered Star for yourself, check out their shop.  They have lots of polish-related stuff :)

Ninja Polish Sapphire Dreams

Happy Monday fellow polish lovers!!  So, most of you probably saw yesterday's post with all the glitter!  I wanted to show you just Ninja Polish Sapphire Dreams, before I put Elixir Lacquers Wynter Wonders over top :)  It's so pretty!  And to top it off, my good friend Amber from And Then There Was Polish was lucky enough to have the winning name when Ninja Polish was asking for name suggestions for this polish :)

Let's get right to it!

This polish is beautiful!  Look at that shimmer!  This is 2 coats (no top coat), and though you can slightly see the VNL in the pictures it isn't visible in person :)  It reminds me of a shiny new car because the shimmer is like the glittery paint finish on on all the cars in the sales lot!

This polish is from the Ninja Polish holiday collection.  You can find all their polishes in their online shop, along with some other brands of polishes :)

Sapphire Dreams & Wynter Wonders

Hellllloooooo ladies!  As most of you who are on Facebook frequently probably already know, I have discovered 100% acetone for polish and glitter removal.  *makes Heavenly sounds and shines a spotlight on the bottle of acetone*

So, because of this, I have overcome my love/hate relationship with glitter polish and it is pure love now!  And to prove it, I have 2 coats of a shimmer polish with 2 coats of a loaded glitter polish, topped with a heavy coat of top coat!

Let's jump in, shall we??  First off, a warning - this is picture heavy, I couldn't narrow it down any more than what I've got here!

Isn't it PRETTY?!?!?!  *gushes*  I am completely in love with this!  And to top it off, I'm not sitting in a corner, rocking back and forth because I'm terrified of the thought of removing this!  I'M CURED!!!

So what is it??  This look is 2 coats of Ninja Polish Sapphire Dreams (lovingly named by Amber over at And Then There Was Polish) which is a blue shimmer polish (swatch to come tomorrow) that reminds me of a shiny new car, topped with Elixir Lacquers Wynter Wonders which contains holographic micro glitter and small squares and lavender hex glitters, both from the holiday collections :)

It's a good thing the sun isn't very bright on my way to work because it could be tricky driving with this masterpiece in the bright sunlight... like a moth to a flame :D

So where can you get these??  Ninja Polish polishes can be purchased here and Elixir Lacquers can be purchased here.  Sometimes the Ninja Polish polishes are a little tricky to get a hold of, but you can sign up for certain polishes so you are e-mailed when the polish you want is restocked :D

So I know this isn't overly Christmas-y, but I still consider it a Christmas mani because the look was achieved using only Holiday collection polishes :D

Are you a glitterholic or glitterphobic??

Nail Polish Canada Nail Art Challenge Week 3

Hello lovely ladies!  I apologize that I haven't been posting regularly the last few days :(  December is proving to be a busy month :)

I went and got some Christmas shopping done yesterday, I'm pretty well done, just need to do a little more thinking to come up with something for one more person and go get a couple more things and I'm done :)  Then I get to wrap them!!!  That's my favourite part!  I just have to think about how I'm going to bling out my gifts this year :D

Today is the last day of the Nail Polish Canada Holiday Nail Art Challenge.  This has been lots of fun doing these designs :)  This week's theme is "Trim the Tree".  I knew I had to do a full mani with the water marble Christmas trees I did from last week.  I also received Ninja Polish No Peeking this week, so I wanted to incorporate that too!

This didn't turn out quite like I pictured in my mind, I definitely like the trees I did in my "Presents" mani for last week, but I have run out of time and can't re-do it, so I just rolled with it :)

For my marble I used Sinful Colors Exotic Green, Avon Electric Green and OPI Who the Shrek Are You?. I think that Exotic Green and Electric Green are too close in colour to marble together for a Christmas tree.  For the trimmings I used Avon Ruby Slippers and rhinestones.  I also fished for some star glitters from Ninja Polish No Peeking :)
My accent nails are Zoya Logan with Ninja Polish No Peeking.  This is an awesome Christmas glitter, and I love it!  I would love to wear this every day of December!

Don't forget head over to the collaboration of all the bloggers participating in the Nail Polish Canada Nail Art Challenge to vote for your favourite :)

Thank you to Nail Polish Canada for hosting this Nail Art Challenge, it's been a lot of fun!  And congratulations to all the girls who participated in this Challenge, everyone did a great job!
