P is for Pinterest-Inspired

Good evening my lovely ladies (and gents - do we have any gent readers?)!  I hope you are all surviving!  I don't know if I will make it to the end of the week :(  We are going through a heat wave here in South-Central Ontario and it's killing me already; today was the first day...

Today I have for you my "P" mani for the ABC Nail Art Challenge!

P is for Pinterest-Inspired

I decided to do a Pinterest-inspired mani because I have been wanting to do this design for a LONG time, and I see this picture a lot when I am cruising Pinterest.

Inspiration - Source
(I clicked the picture to find the original source but it took me to what looks like a bra subscription page...)
I started out with 2 coats of Julep Martha on my thumb, index and pinky nails, 2 coats of Julep Kate with the matte top coat between coats of white, and 2 coats of Butter London West End Wonderland.  You are probably wondering why I went with gold rather than silver like in the Pinterest picture... well, you see.. I discovered that I do not have a fine silver glitter AT ALL in my entire collection of 300+ polishes!!  *GASP!*  I know!!  So I decided I would try a different colour, and I went with Butter London West End Wonderland, and I think it works just as well!

On  my middle nail, I applied the large chevron nail decals from Make It Stick Designs in Black.  With the chevrons, you do have to trim them because they do overhang the nail.  This isn't a big deal, I just use a little pair of cuticle scissors that come in those little manicure sets with the nail clippers, tweezers, metal file, etc.  They are REALLY sharp though, so just make sure you are careful with them around the skin :)  I will say, however, that it's trickier to trim the chevrons using your non-dominant hand, haha!

I think that mine would have turned out a little better if I had've used the narrow chevrons, which are also available from Make It Stick Designs, but I still love the way it looks and turned out :D

The decals can be purchased from the Make It Stick Designs bigcartel site, and remember to like her on Facebook to keep up with new designs and vinyl options :D
