Hallowe'en Mani #3

Good morning and Happy Thursday!!  Last day of the work week for me, and it's that much closer to Turkey weekend here in the Great White North!  Yahoo!!  I love turkey dinners - aside from all things pasta, turkey is my favourite meal.  But you have to have all the trimmings - stuffing, potatoes, turnip, coleslaw, peas, gravy... and grandma's homemade apple pie *drool*  My cousins and I are in charge of dessert this year, so not sure if we will get some of grandma's apple pie.  I think it's high-time I got the recipe from her, no?

Alrighty, onto the nails!  This is the third Hallowe'en mani I have done, and I love the look of them every time I see them, so of course I had to do them again this year - Candy Corn Nails!

So.. I got lazy and didn't feel like taping off ALL of my nails, so I just did 2 striped candy corn nails, and did intricately dotted nails on the others.  Makes sense, right?!  ;)  For this, I started with 2 coats of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Sunkissed, a perfect orange for Hallowe'en.  Then, when that was dry, I cut a piece of clear Scotch tape (because I have had terrible luck with the matte Scotch tape not working so well in tape manis for me) and taped off my nail across the middle to protect the orange portion of the candy corn.  Then I polished the top of my nail to the tape line with Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear White On, and from the tape line to the tip of my nail with Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Mellow Yellow.

I used the same 3 colours in my dotticure nails with 3 different sized dotting tools.

I really love the look of this mani, even though they aren't all done in the candy corn design :D  I think that the nails with the dots make it really fun and interesting to look at.

What do you think - do you like seeing Candy Corn Nails during the Hallowe'en season?

    1. After I posted this, I saw that too!! I should have done little white dots on the top of the yellow and orange layered dots, then it would have definitely been top-view candy corns!! :D
