Hallowe'en Mani #1

Evening everyone!  Can you believe we are into October already??  I am not normally a Hallowe'en person, but I have been trying to come up with some ideas for some Hallowe'en manis for you and I have a few in mind.  It may be a little early in the month to start them, but ah well ;)  I'm going to try to do as many as I can this month, we'll see how many I get done :D

Here is the first one!

O is for Ombre

Happy Sunday!  I did have a Swatch-It-Up-Saturday post to do for yesterday, but ran out of time, so it's going to have to wait until next weekend :)  I do have my "O" mani for this week's letter for the ABC Challenge though!

Julep Claudette and Tip Top Nails Smashed

All polishes are purchased with my own money unless stated otherwise.

HAPPY FRIDAY!  The weekend is finally here!  I was supposed to write my final exam this morning, but due to in-climate weather and hydro outages, the place I was writing it was closed.  So I have to reschedule for next week.

Yesterday I posted Julep Claudette and told you to come back to see what I did with it!  Check it out!

NOTD: Scratchboard Nails

Hello my sweets!  It's Friday and I'm spending the day with Tyler and Owen :D

Today I have for you some "scratchboard" nails :)  The name for this was suggested by my friend Trixie from my SMYTC group :)

Remember when we were kids and we would colour a blank piece of paper with lots of different coloured crayons and then use a black crayon and colour over the entire sheet, then use a toothpick and draw images into the black to allow the colour behind to show through?  This was the idea I got before I received my black crackle polish from Julep, Ursula.  As soon as I got it, I tried it.  (This was also supposed to be my Day 1 design for the November Nail Art Challenge but realized after I had already taken it off that I forgot my little sign, lol!)

So I started with dotting my entire nail with the 6 colours of the rainbow:
Julep Deluanay (red)
Julep Parker (orange)
Julep Mystery Yellow
Avon Electric Green
Julep Gunta (blue)
Julep Morgan (purple)

It reminds me of a gumball machine :)  Then I applied Julep Ursula over top, a black creme crackle polish.

TA DA!!  I love the look of this, I will definitely be trying it out with neon colours as well :D  As I've mentioned before, I am pretty new to the crackle polish train, but I really like the effect they have, it's different every time :D

So what do you guys think?  Do you like this, or is it not quite your cup of tea?

Go Pink Wednesday October 31

Good morning and Happy Hallowe'en everybody!  How many of you dressed up for work today?  I don't dress up, but I have been wearing my cute Hallowe'en earrings for most of the month, this is my form of dressing up :)

Today is the last day of Go Pink Wednesday, hosted by Finger Painting Fingers and it's been lots of fun coming up with pink nails over the past 5 weeks, it's nice to have something really girly on my nails once in a white :)  I think that Breast Cancer Awareness should be every month, but it was so nice to see all these wonderful ladies coming together to bring even more awareness to the cause and for the cure!

For this I used one coat of Julep Carrie (should have done 2 coats, or at least put a top coat over top so the crackle didn't pull it apart :( ) with Julep Glenda (silver crackle) over top.  I kept it simple for today, also I'm a little late to the crackle polish bandwagon (OK, way late ;) ) and I wanted to see how this would look :)  I'm really digging the crackle polish, I'm glad I got all 4 of the Julep crackles -- Hermione (white), Glenda (silver), Ursula (black), Sabrina (orange).  Can anyone figure out where they got all the names from??  ;)

Thank you Andrea for hosting this!
