G is for Gradient

Afternoon ladies and gents!  Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!  Hopefully your babies (human or fur-baby) are treating you to a day of rest and relaxation!  Tyler and Owen just left, but I was just happy to have them with me for the morning, and this whole weekend :)

Today's post is for the ABC Challenge.  It's "G" week :)

G is for Gradient

I'm pretty dang proud of this mani!  I love the way it turned out.  I used my Gel II Lala Me gel mani as my base colour, then sponged on Zoya Blaze on the tips to create my gradient nails.  I knew that I had to use on of the polishes from the Zoya Ornate collection because Lala Me has the same type of scattered holo finish to it and it definitely works!

Then I used BM-313 and stamped a giraffe pattern over the gradient using Julep Felicity (gold) for a subtle addition to the mani.  I decided to go with the outline giraffe stamp rather than the spot one - they have both types on the stamping plate for easy reversed-mani stamping.  This way the gradient showed through the most :)

What do you think of this one?  I'm really in love with it!  Do you have success with gradients, or are you like me and have fail gradients more often than successful gradients?  Would you have used a different colour combination?
