Cartoon Nails

Happy Monday!  We got our last blast of winter yesterday and ended up with a little less than an inch of the white stuff.  Don't worry, I'm not complaining :D  I personally took it as Mother Nature's way of telling me "it won't be long till it's back!" :D  Now, before you guys start throwing rotten tomatoes at me, let's move on to the nails ;)

I have been wanting to do this mani from cutepolish since watching the video a few weeks ago when she posted it, but other designs and swatching have taken precedence, for some reason..  That, and I've been kinda lazy, lol!

G is for Gradient

Afternoon ladies and gents!  Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there!  Hopefully your babies (human or fur-baby) are treating you to a day of rest and relaxation!  Tyler and Owen just left, but I was just happy to have them with me for the morning, and this whole weekend :)

Today's post is for the ABC Challenge.  It's "G" week :)

Gel II Rip Tide

Happy Saturday lovelies!  Today is a great day, I had some weight lifted off my shoulders last night and I feel so much better!

So, yesterday was a complete waste of a day, it seems.  I meant to do this post yesterday, but didn't end up getting around to it.  I got up early and went to the gym with Tyler so that he could train a client and I would workout in the meantime.  Then we went and looked at our first house (YAY!), and while it was an OK house, it's not what we are looking for and I'm pretty sure Owen would give us that look that says "and where am I supposed to poop" when he saw the backyard - it was pretty tiny.  Then we came home, watched some TV, then Tyler went back to the gym for his evening clients and I had an off-and-on nap from about 3:30-ish till 5:30-ish, then came to Tyler's mom's house to wait for him to come home.  I was so lazy that I didn't even get my laptop out or turned on until today, lol!

Today I have for you my swatches for Gel II Rip Tide.  This is another gel polish, and I love it so much.  The funnest part about it - it's colour changing!!  Gel II has recently released their Reaction Gel collection which is a colour changing collection that changes with temperature.

February Nail Art Challenge Day 8

Howdy readers!!  It's Thursday, my last day of work - yippee!!!  Bring on the weekend so I can sleep in :D

Today is Day 8 of the Challenge, can you believe it's almost over?!  Only one more day to go, what ever will I do when it's all over?!?!  Day 8 is all about Polka Dots :D  I love me some dotticures, they are so easy to execute and the combinations are seriously endless!  All you need is polish and something pointy.  Personally, I use a tailor's pin stuck in the eraser of a pencil, an unfolded paperclip, or a toothpick, or a combination of them all, to create my dotticures.  You could also use a dried up ball point pen or the lead end of a pencil.  No need to buy those fancy schmancy dotting tools when you have so many around the house ;)

February Nail Art Challenge Day 6

Happy Friday polishers!  I haven't done much today besides shovel the driveway which took me about an hour.  We got some more snow last night :D  Tyler told me to tell it to stop, but I won't, hehehehe!  Tyler said that because I wasn't going to the gym today that I could shovel the driveway while he went to work - deal!!

Today I have for you my Day 6 design for the Nail Art Challenge - Gradient.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day my lovelies!  I hope that your loved ones spoil you today, and every other day of the year for that matter ;)  I'm not really one for Valentine's Day because I believe that love should be shown every day of the year, not just one day because it's written on the calendar :)  Plus, stores take advantage of it and charge you an arm, a leg, and your first born (if you have children) for flowers, chocolates or jewellery.  I just want my chocolate at regular price, lol!

Last night I was on my SMYTC Facebook group and Kara from Never Gonna Give You Up said something to inspire this mani, so this is for you Kara!! <3

February Nail Art Challenge Day 5

Good morning my loves!  What is everyone up to today?

I have for you today my Day 5 design for the Nail Art Challenge - Valentine's Day Nails.  I have never really been "woohoo" about Valentine's Day, I think it's important to make sure to let your loved ones what they mean to you every day of the year.  Also, stores way over-price stuff like flowers and chocolates for Valentine's Day.  Just gimme my chocolate at it's regular price, please and thank you :P

Gel II Blue Blue

Happy Monday my loves!  I hope you had a good weekend and that everyone is all dug out for the time being :)  Our snow is melting today *sad panda* but the temperature is supposed to drop again tonight and start snowing :D  Woohoo!!!

Today I have something a little different for you guys.  My sister-in-law works for the company that produces and sells Gel II gel polishes, LA Palm Products out of Wichita, Kansas, USA.  A while back she messaged me and her boss wanted to send me some samples to promote on my blog.  Sweeeeeet!  Now, I know what you're thinking.. yes I change my polish ALL THE TIME, but I thought "why not try it?!"  She told me to look at the site and send her a list of 10 (yep, 10) colours that I liked and she would send them to me, along with everything I needed.  WOW!!! Way more generous than I was expecting, and so thankful!!  So I've been pretty excited about this, and she sent them to me while she was up here in the Great White North visiting with her daughters over the Christmas holidays.  I know, I know.. what took me so long, right?!

The light that she sent wasn't working so well for me, so I found one on Saturday while I was shopping (and spending way more money than I had anticipated in one day!) and as soon as I got home I tried it!  The colour I wanted to use first, of all the ones she sent me, is called Blue Blue.  Let's take a look at the pictures first and then I will go into the details.
