Christmas Nails #2

Hey everybody!!!  I have another Christmas mani for you today!  I didn't get to polishing last night because I was too busy making homemade sugar cookies so my sister and I can ice them tomorrow :D  I'll post pictures of them on the Facebook page when we have them done :)

Hallowe'en Mani #5

Afternoon my loves!  What's shakin'?  Almost another day of work behind me, and the weekend almost within my grasp!  Tyler and I are going to be heading to my friend's house Saturday to go and see another friend and his band play in their hometown (they normally play in the Toronto area) and I'm kind of excited even though it's at a bar (I don't drink) and they don't play my kind of music.  I don't get out much though :P

I have another Hallowe'en mani for you today!  I found the inspiration for this one on Pinterest, here's the link to the original picture.  Here is my "rendition"!

Eeyore Nails

Good morning, and happy Monday!  What is everyone up to this week??  I will be working on getting stuff ready for camping this weekend when I'm not here at work.  I haven't been camping in a year, and I miss it.  I really love camping - that it's an escape from everything, especially when you are in a Provincial Park (campground run by the province of Ontario) with no hydro, no water and sleeping in a tent ;)  This year should be better than last year - we had a fire ban last year because of dry conditions, and it was a terribly windy and stormy weekend.  So far they are calling for decent temperatures and "scattered showers", so hopefully that will change for the better during the week :D

Onto the nails - I saw a post on Crazy Polishes' blog using an MJ Stamping Plate to create a Winnie the Pooh mani, and I knew right away that I HAD to have it!!  So I went to My Online Shop's etsy store to purchase it immediately - good thing I had just the right amount of PayPal money ;)  Unfortunately, she doesn't ship to Canada, so I had to use my US middle man - Amber from And Then There Was Polish - as my shipping destination so she could send it onto me when she got it :D

A few weeks later, it came in the mail and I was SOOO excited, I immediately did a mani with it!

Snowflake French Tip

Thank goodness it's Friday!  There are only 11 days left before Christmas, and it doesn't feel like it because we are missing lots of snow, and this year has gone way too fast!  I also just realized that I have been blogging for almost 6 months!  Sure doesn't feel like it!

I have another Christmas mani for you guys today!  I found this while browsing Google for stamped Christmas manis and found this design by Meliney, but altered it slightly to make it more Christmasy and I don't have the stamping plate she was using :)

Source (screenshot from the tutorial video)
Here is what I came up with:

For this design, I used Avon Ruby Slippers for my red tips, Bundle Monster stamping plate BM-319 for the snowflakes and Konad Special Polish in White.  I topped it with Jordana Crystal Glitter.

This is so Christmasy and I love it so much!  You could do this with any colour on the tips and it will look great!  I was debating on whether to do red or green and decided on red :)

Do you like it?  Have you ever watched any of Meliney's tutorial videos for nail designs?  Which one is your favourite?

NOTD: Julep Harley

Evening ladies!

I have for you tonight Julep Harley that I received in my August Julep Maven Box Add-On package.

I love this colour!  This is my favourite of my two add-ons, by far.  I have been wanting a silver chrome for a while now and this is a perfect match for what I have been looking for :)

This polish has an almost mirror finish, it was reflecting the blue paint on the walls of the room I was painting them in so it looked blue, it's THAT reflective :D

Then I decide to dress it up a little bit with a French tip :)

For this I used L'Oréal I Will! and Jordana Pop Art Black Mark nail art brush.  I love the look of this, but because it's dark out I only took one picture, my flash was causing the silver to reflect the light back hardcore.

What do you think of Harley?  Did you get her in your August Julep Maven Box, or did you add her on?

NOTD: Get a Life! ;)

Hey everybody!  I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend so far :)

I have for you today the nail art I was going to do on Thursday but due to nail staining (which is still there) I put it off, but decided to do it anyways.  This is for all you video-game junkies out there!

I was able to cover the staining with white polish, then added a nude sheer to it to give it an almost natural nail look.  It's a lot better than what this design would have looked like without the white coat because my green stained nails would have been peeking through the design.

Anyways, without further ado, here is what I have for you today.  I saw this nail tutorial on cutepolish's YouTube channel and just had to try it!

This was a little more difficult than it looked in the video, but I used the nail polish brush rather than a smaller art brush, so that made it a little trickier.  Next time I would definitely use a smaller art brush.

I also knicked my thumb nail while I was waiting for the nude colour to dry, so please ignore that  :)

So the colours I used -- Avon Electric Green, L'Oréal I Will, Jordana Pop Art Black and Sally Hansen Nearl Nude Natural Colour from a French Tip kit.  In the sunlight pictures you can see the shimmer of the nude colour, it's very pretty on its own too :)

What do you guys think?  I would also like to try the design with red for the "grow-up" mushrooms from Super Mario Bros.  Super Mario Bros. is my favourite video game, but I don't know all the "technical" terms for the magic mushrooms in the game :P

So the next time your boyfriend or husband tells you to "get a life" because you paint your nails too often, paint this for him then see what he has to say ;D

NOTD: Colourful French Tip

Hey everybody!  Today's the day for the Mandarin, so I have scheduled this blog.  I'm hoping this works *fingers crossed*

I took yesterday's solid manicure using Julep Hayden and using Julep Natasha (a red-orange) painted on free-hand French tips.  I think this colour combo works really well together, the colours compliment each other nicely :D

So while you guys have been enjoying this blog entry, I am enjoying my lunch at the Mandarin with my dad's family, celebrating my grandma's 80th Birthday :D  Have a great rest of your weekend!

NOTD: Polka Dots Fench Tip Nail Art

Happy Friday everyone!  I hope everyone has great plans for the weekend!  My post is early today because I didn't have to work today :D  Love long weekends!!

I'm off to a birthday party/dance tomorrow night and then off to the Mandarin on Sunday for lunch for my Grandma's 80th birthday -- I can't wait, I LOVE Chinese food :D

Here is my mani for today.  I used the Bora Bora polish I put on last night as my base colour to this nail art.  I placed dots of colour along the tip (free edge) of my nail using a toothpick in Julep Hayden (light peachy-orange colour) and Lily (vibrant fuschia pink).

The picture taken in the sunlight shows off the light pink microglitter in Bora Bora.  This colour is beautiful, but is most true to it's character in full sunlight.

I was going to do my whole nail with polka dots, but I thought it might take away from Bora Bora and I didn't want to cover it up :)
