China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy

All polishes are purchased with my own money unless stated otherwise.

Good morning readers!! :D  I hope everyone had a great weekend!  Mine was kinda-sorta busy, but relaxing at the same time - if that makes sense :P  Tyler, my sister, my sister's friend, Owen and I went for a 2 hour hike on Saturday, then to Dairy Queen after :D  I got a new Blizzard Waffle Cone, and while it was good, I think I would rather a Blizzard out of a cup - a) you get more ice cream that way, and b) the waffle cone was just kinda "meh".  I also got the Blizzard of the month - Choco Peanut Butter Brownie, and again, it was just kinda "meh".  Shoulda stuck to my regular Skor Blizzard in a cup, but I'm glad I tried it :)

Today I've got for you a neon polish from last year, maybe a couple years ago?  I dunno, I just know that I LOVE it and I don't care when it came out, lol!  This is China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy.  **SUNGLASSES REQUIRED!**

Julep Alicia

Good evening lovely ladies and gents!  I hope everyone had a good weekend and is adjusting to the time change alright.  I know I won't be used to it for a week or two :)

Today I have Julep Alicia for you!  This is honestly the most perfect neon coral colour, but was so hard to photograph :(  I don't alter my photos at all other than cropping and watermarking, and I wouldn't even know where to start to do it if I wanted to, so these are a tad off of the real life colours.

February Nail Art Challenge Day 6

Happy Friday polishers!  I haven't done much today besides shovel the driveway which took me about an hour.  We got some more snow last night :D  Tyler told me to tell it to stop, but I won't, hehehehe!  Tyler said that because I wasn't going to the gym today that I could shovel the driveway while he went to work - deal!!

Today I have for you my Day 6 design for the Nail Art Challenge - Gradient.

WalMart Nail Haul

Hey happy polishers :)  I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!  My "camping trip" was.. wet.  It rained from Friday when we got there until this morning :(  We didn't end up staying in the tent, we slept on an air mattress in the living room of the cottage we were at, only to find it deflated over night :(  There was a little hole in it that we found when we got home today.  It was good to spend time away with friends though, so in the end it was worth it :)

Anywho, I have for you today my haul from WalMart that I got last weekend.  I went shopping for shoes (I had a coupon that was going to expire and that would never do!) and ended up bringing home polish.. go figure! :P

Let's look at what I got :D

Left to Right:
Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Snappy Sorbet, Mint Sprint, Brisk Blue
Revlon Top Speed Fire
PRO-FX Fiberized Ridge Filler
Let's start with the Sally Hansen Insta-Dris, shall we :)  This is the first time I have purchased these, but I have read that they are really good for stamping, so I thought I would give them a shot :)  Again, I tried to pick colours that I don't have something already close to in my collection.

This is a coral-y colour and I think this would look great with Zoya Irene :)

This is a really nice teal-y colour, I can't wait to try stamping this on white and black :)

I like that this colour is vibrant :)  Again, this is one that I want to try stamping over white!

So I didn't own a red in my collection... yes seriously, I didn't own a single real red!  I had a coupon for Revlon and I used it to buy this colour :D

Now, this is the best deal on polish I have found in a while (besides Julep's Intro Box for $0.01!).  75mL of base coats and top coats for less than $5.00 at WalMart!!!  Holy cow!  So I got the ridge filler.  I don't have a ridge filler, and I have never tried this brand before, so I thought I would give it a try.  They also didn't have any quick dry top coat left which is what I will be looking for every time I am in WalMart now :D

And just for a comparison, this is the Pro-FX ridge filler beside a full-sized OPI polish :)

Have you had any good WalMart/department store hauls lately?  It's amazing what you can find out there sometimes :D

NOTD: L'Oréal Mango-Get-Em

Hey everybody!  Wow, I have to get my blogs done earlier, lol!

So I had an awesome nail art planned for today, but when I took off Julep Emilie tonight, this is what my nails looked like :'(

The glitter came off great wih the tinfoil method (see Ms. Lizard's tutorial), but I was left with a mess of a stain on my nails, even though I put a base coat on :(  This happened the last time I wore Emilie too.  Guess I will have to try to put a couple coats under the colour to try to prevent the staining...

Anyways, so because I figured I should put an opaque polish on to cover the staining rather than the nail art I was going to do, I put on L'Oréal Mango-Get-Em.  Then, to dress it up without going too overboard, I did a couple polka-dot flowers on my thumb and ring finger as accent nails.

L'Oréal Mango-Get-Em is a really pretty pinky-coral colour.  I had to put on 3 coats, but that was mostly because you could still see the green stain underneath.  I got this colour a few years ago because I thought it would match a coral dress I was going to wear to my cousin's wedding.  Turns out the dress was more orange-coral and the polish more pink-coral, so they didn't match, and the dress didn't fit anymore :(

What do you do when your nail polish has stained your nails?  Ms. Lizard also has a nail whitening tutorial but I didn't have time to do it tonight and do a blog post.  I did soak my nails in a bowl with warm water and lemon juice to try to make the stain a little lighter.  It helped a little bit, but they are still fairly green under my new polish colour.  I hope it comes off with the next polish change.

Nail Mail -- Julep Beat the Heat Flash Sale

Oh my gosh I just LOVE getting nail mail!  Yesterday I got more Julep (surprise, surprise!) and couldn't wait to show you guys what I got :D  Julep had a "Beat the Heat" Flash Sale on their Facebook page where you could purchase 2 polishes and the Best Pedi Creme Ever for $14.99 with the Discount Code they provided.  The value of this box:  $50.00 ($14.00 per polish + $22.00 Pedi Creme).  WOW! :D  Who can't resist a deal like that?!  And as always, as a Maven I received FREE shipping :D

Tyler and I are visiting my sister in London this weekend, so I had her help model the colours I got :D

Here's what I opened --

A sample packet of the Glycolic Hand Scrub.  I have a bottle of this, but I'm not sure that I like it.  Maybe I will appreciate it more in the winter...

The Best Pedi Creme Ever!  And yes, it lives up to its name! :D  I'm not keen on the scent, but it works magic on rough feet, so I don't let it bother me :)

I decided to wear Sasha.

Natural Light

And the guest model, my younger sister Shannon, is wearing Daisy :D

I don't know how much I like Daisy, but I will definitely give her a try on my own nails soon :D  She may be more of a nail art colour ;)
Sasha is a lovely creme polish that is described as "cantaloupe", but I think it's more like a neon pink with coral tones, but that's just me.  I don't eat cantaloupe but when I see it, it's definitely more of a soft orange colour rather than pink.
I am glad I picked both of these colours as it adds a little "sunshine" into my rainbow of nail colours :D
