Swatch-It-Up-Saturday Sep 14

Good morning lovely readers!  I hope everyone is staying snuggled up this morning!  It's a whopping 4°C here this morning and there was a heavy layer of frost out in the country - I'm working this morning and my mom was telling me on the way in to work :)  And you know what that means!!  Winter is coming!!! :D  YAY!!!

It's yet another Swatch-It-Up-Saturday!  Come check out all the swatches I have been hoarding!  There are LOTS, so let's get right to it, shall we?

This is 2 coats of Avon Vivid Violet.  I really love Avon polishes, they are the perfect consistency and are very easy to work with :)  Vivid Violet is a gorgeous glowy purple polish with a slight blue shimmer.  It's not quite as blue as it's showing in the picture.

This is 3 coats of China Glaze Creative Fantasy.  This is a bright purple jelly polish from the Cirque du Soleil collection from China Glaze.  I love this colour, and it was recommended to me by Kristy from Saturday Swatch.  It's a lot brighter in real life than in this picture, and I highly recommend it for anyone who is a purple lover!  I didn't realize that it was a jelly polish, so I was a little taken-aback by it when I first applied it, but I still love it.

This is 2 coats of Julep Bunny.  This is one of the most disappointing polishes I have owned.  The formula is great, but see that shimmer there in the bottle?  Yeah.. that did NOT transfer to the nail AT ALL!  I was so looking forward to seeing this polish in all its beauty, but I was thoroughly disappointed in it!  If you are looking for a white-with-copper-shimmer polish, don't pick up this one.

This is 2 coats of Julep Kyla.  This was a mystery polish in Julep's Mystery Box a few months ago and while I didn't get the Mystery Box, I did manage to get the mystery glitters (this and Monica) from a friend.  I really love this, I think that I am a closet orange-lover.  While I would never think that orange would be a favourite colour of mine, I seem to be drawn to orange polishes.  This is a gorgeous jelly polish with tons of flaky-type glitters.  This will be perfect for a bedazzled Hallowe'en or fall mani!

This is 1 coat of Julep Paris over China Glaze Creative Fantasy.  Oh.. Em.. Gee!!  This is THE mother of all holographic glitter polishes!  I am SO in love with it, and there was no way I could stop looking at this while I was wearing it!  And the absolute best part about it is all of the glitter laid flat on the nail, there was nothing sticking up and the nail was smooth to the touch even without at top coat.  I had to take a blurry picture to show you all the glitteryness of it!

This is 2 coats of a new-to-me indie polish, Northern Star Smuldering.  This is gor-geous!!  I received it in a secret swap box and I can't be happier with it!  In the bottle it looked like a deep plum purple polish, but when I put it on, it looked to be brown coloured.  It really shone when I went out into the sunlight!  But of course the sun set before I could get an in-the-sun picture, so I did my best to bring out the beautiful red shimmer that hides in this polish.  I wouldn't normally go for a polish this vampy, but I am so glad that Lauri introduced me to this polish!  You can purchase Northern Star polish from the etsy store.

This is 2 coats of OPI Lincoln Park After Dark Suede.  I found this polish at my local Winners, little did I know how hard this is to find!  This is a gorgeous suede polish (no top coat) that is a really bold purple.  I definitely prefer this polish over Julep Nora.  The only thing with all suede polishes is that with not being able to add a top coat, they start chipping a lot sooner than polish normally would.  The application of this was really easy and the formula was great.  I did find that it started to get a little thicker on the brush when I was almost done polishing, but I think that is pretty "standard" with suede polishes.

This is 2 coats of piCture pOlish Cosmos.  I LOVE this polish!  It's perfect!  The formula is perfect on this polish, and the colour is GORGEOUS!  It's a medium-dark blue with a pretty slightly holographic glitter to it.  This is a polish that will be staying in my collection forever!

This is 2 coats of Sally Hansen Lustre Shine Scarab.  This is a really pretty blue-to-green duochrome polish!  It's one that you can watch all day to see the change in colour with every shift of movement.  The formula on this polish is great, it was easy to apply and the coverage is great.  If I remember right (I wore this a couple weeks ago), the first coat was a little sheer, but it all evened out with the second :)

And there we have it!  My multitude of polish swatches that I have been hoarding saving for probably 3 weeks now :)  Now to work on saving up some more and hopefully posting them next Saturday :D

  1. I adore all my OPI Suede polishes and I have all of the ones they made - odd they have not done another collection since mattes started to become so popular - when the suedes came out they were not a hot thing in other lines at all and many did not leave them matte but put a clear topper on them.

    1. I only have this one, and I only have it because I stumbled across it in Winners. It's pretty great! The other suedes I have (Julep) aren't near as nice and boldy coloured as this was.
