Swatch-It-Up-Saturday Nov 30

Evening!  I almost forgot to post this today!  Well, here we are on the last day of November, the Christmas season will start in full swing tomorrow, and I will be able to plug my Christmas lights in :D  YAY!  Tyler and I put the outside lights up a few weekends ago, taking advantage of a warm day, but I haven't been "allowed" to turn them on until December 1st.

It's Swatch-It-Up-Saturday and I have a LOT of catching up to do.  This is going to be a picture-heavy post, so let's get right to it.

Good afternoon lovely readers!  I am doing up this post quickly before I have to get ready for going to Tyler's mom's for dinner... mmmmmturkey!!

I thought I would do my nails to celebrate Thanksgiving!  And was high-time for a water marble because I haven't done a water marble for a while, and I came up with something perfect!!  Come check it out!!!

Hallowe'en Mani #2

Hey everyone!  Hopefully you are enjoying the last day of your weekend - I don't want to go back to work tomorrow :(  I thought I would take today to do up some blog posts so that I have something to post for the rest of the week, since I have been slacking on that, hardcore!

Today I have my Hallowe'en Mani #2 for you :D  I love the way this one came out, so let's take a look!

For this, I applied one coat of Different Dimension Bazinga! (from the Big Bang Theory collection) over 2 coats of China Glaze Ingrid.  The combination felt very fall/Hallowe'en-ish to me, and I loved the way it looked!  With it being Stamping week for COTW on my Facebook group (I think we are changing it to Mani Of The Week - MOTW), I decided to stamp the little devil guys from BM-305 and Julep Mystery Yellow.  This polish stamped surprisingly well :)  They are just so cute!

Then I decided to see what it looked like mattified, and I love it even more!

I really love stamping, it makes nail art so easy!  This is also my first time stamping over a glitter, and while I see it on a couple of the blogs that I follow, I have never tried it because I was afraid that when I did it, the stamping would take away from the glitter.  In this case, I think it definitely added to it :D

That's it for today!  What do you think of my little guys??  I think they are just so cute!!  Alright, I'm off to work on some more post drafts right now!

Swatch-It-Up-Saturday Oct 5

Afternoon everyone!  What a dreary weekend!  It's definitely fall, and most of the trees around here have lost 90% of their leaves.. does that mean winter will be extra early this year?  One can only hope, right?? ;)

It's Swatch-It-Up-Saturday, and I will call this one the "Avon Edition" because it's mostly Avon polishes.  I did a swatch-a-thon last week, and I worked on swatching all of my Avon polishes.  I hope to work through entire brands at a time, when I have a chance to sit down and swatch for a whole day.  Let's get started!

Swatch-It-Up-Saturday Sep 28

Good morning my loves!  I hope everyone has fun plans for this weekend!  As I write this, I am working on some polish swatching because, quite frankly, I have too many untried or unswatched polishes and it drives me crazy every time I look at my polish list!  But, it's also Swatch-It-Up-Saturday, so while I am working diligently, here is what I have worn over the past week!

Swatch-It-Up-Saturday Sep 14

Good morning lovely readers!  I hope everyone is staying snuggled up this morning!  It's a whopping 4°C here this morning and there was a heavy layer of frost out in the country - I'm working this morning and my mom was telling me on the way in to work :)  And you know what that means!!  Winter is coming!!! :D  YAY!!!

It's yet another Swatch-It-Up-Saturday!  Come check out all the swatches I have been hoarding!  There are LOTS, so let's get right to it, shall we?

Cherry Blossoms

Morning my dears!  How is everyone?  Today is the day Tyler and I go back to the house for our first visit before closing!  Can you believe it's getting so close!?  It's becoming more and more real every day! :D

Sorry I didn't get a post up yesterday, I painted my nails on Monday night in preparation of doing some nail art (not at all like I am showing you today) and I got really lazy and just left it at the base colour.  So I did some pondering yesterday at work trying to come up with something to do.  A girl on the Canadian Julep Trade Group on Facebook mentioned doing cherry blossom nails and I decided right then and there that's what I was going to do because my base colour was perfect for it!

Sally Hansen Mudslide and China Glaze Fairy Dust

Happy Monday!  This is the first of what I'm hoping to be 3 posts today, so let's get started!

This is what I did with my Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Mudslide mani last week.  I know, I told you to "come back tomorrow" on Thursday, but it was a bit of a hectic weekend!  I will go into more detail in one of my other posts :)

Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Mudslide

Howdie everyone!  Today's post is a polish that my mom had in her little (itty bitty) polish stash that she didn't want anymore, so I said I would take it and at least try it out :)  I'm still not sure about this one though, so let me know what you think :)  This is Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Mudslide.

Glitzology Sock Monkey

Good evening my lovlies!  I am done my first chapter of my course, whew!  Only 14 more weeks to go, lol!

Tonight I have for you the 2nd review polish from Glitzology, Sock Monkey :D  I never had a sock monkey as a kid - did you?  I lived a sheltered life that I didn't really know what a sock monkey was until maybe 8 or 9 years ago.  It seems they have become popular over the last few years.  I was googling a picture to show Tyler, when I told him that I had sock monkey polish on my nails he asked if it was yellow (not sure where he got that), and I came across this...

Reindeer Nails

(Feel free to sing along...)
You know Dasher and Dancer, and Prancer and Vixen.
Comet and Cupid, and Donner and Blitzen.
But do you recall...
The most famous reindeer of all....

How cute are these guys?!?!?!?!  I am absolutely IN LOVE with these nails and wish I could carry these guys with me forever!  I was inspired by Top Coat It's reindeer nail design from last year.

For this I used Julep Mystery Colour #1 (dark brown) as my base colour - which I'm really digging and it's so perfect for reindeer! - Julep Alyson for the antlers, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear White On for the eyes and Santa's jacket detail, Jordana Black for the pupils, Santa's belt and reindeer noses, and for Santa's coat and Rudolph's nose I used Jessica Red Delight.  For the gold detail on Santa's belt and buttons I used Jordana Pop Art Golden Artist.

2 more sleeps till Santa's reindeer drop Santa off at the houses of all the good girls and boys, and I know he's stopping at my house this year ;)

What is your favourite Christmas carol?  Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is stuck in your head now, isn't it?!

NOTD: Julep Rachel

Happy Monday ladies!  I hope everyone had a great weekend and a great start back into the work week.  How many are going back to school in the next week or so?
I have Julep Rachel for you today that I got in my August Mystery Box.  I'm still not sure of this colour, it's my least favourite from this box, and my least favourite polish from Julep to date.  I'm not a big fan of browns, expecially for nail polish.  I think the only way to wear brown polish is with nail art on top.

This is a penny-coloured polish, a very brown-copper colour.  It did apply nicely though -- this was only 2 coats of polish, so it became opaque easily, and it does have a shimmer to it.  This is not a colour I would want to get again, I just don't think that nail polish should be this kind of colour.  That's only my personal opinion of course.
What do you guys think?  Is this a colour of nail polish you would wear?
